We’re reopening the Local Business Tourism Contribution for 2026/27 and would love to support your ideas - from bookable experiences to other creative projects that help visitors discover the North York Moors in meaningful ways.

We’re particularly interested in ideas that:

🦋 Bring people closer to nature and wildlife
🌿 Use the landscape’s special qualities in creative ways
🏡 Encourage off-peak visits and longer stays
🤝 Provide opportunity for people to give back

From stargazing kits and guided walks to immersive nature experiences, this funding is all about helping visitors connect, learn and care.

We have been working with local stakeholders to develop the concept for a seafront watersports hub. This will be a landmark facility, better connecting Scarborians to the sea to help unlock the benefits that come with being active in and on the sea.

A series of four 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 showing off Scarborough landmarks and extreme sports in a different light, creating a range of light trail pictures in the process.

Join us on a journey as 𝐖𝐄 illuminate beautiful parts of Scarborough, with lights on our bodies, boats and bikes. A 𝐂𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 will take place through Peasholm Park on the 24th November, and a 𝐩𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭 (canoe, kayak, sup and row) will take place on the 26th November in South Bay. To take part, you will need all your own equipment.

Or join us to watch locals show off their sport in iconic Scarborough locations. All captured using light trail photography. Skateboards will illuminate Hairy Bob's with their skills on the 25th November, and martial artists will show off their moves with Scarborough Castle in the backdrop on the 27th November.

All events will start at 6pm; booking for the cycle ride and paddle out is essential, so we are able to safely cover the events. Booking can be made through https://scarboroughfair.uk/events/sportlight/
