Isle of Wight National Landscape Isle of Wight National Landscape is a beautiful, thriving landscape cared for and appreciated by all.

The designated area of the AONB covers approximately half of the Island (189 square kilometres), concentrated around the south-west and north-west coastal areas and including an area of inland downland in the island's east. It also covers around half the coastline including both the Hamstead and Tennyson Heritage Coast areas.[1] The area was designated in 1963.

🦋Drop in between 10am – 4pm on Saturday 4th July to enjoy guided nature walks, explore specimens, find out more about local nature and get involved with wildlife spotting.

🔎With your help, we'll aim to record as many species as possible.

🦇The event kicks off with an evening bat walk Friday 3rd July (the evening before) led by Isle of Wight Bat Group - an opportunity to experience the noctural wildlife of the site.

Capital Grants 2026 guidance has now been published by Defra, with support available for environmental improvements that help farms improve water and air quality, support nature, strengthen resilience and continue sustainable food production.
This time next week, Capital Grants and the wider scheme landscape will be discussed at our sold out Scheme Update Meeting, delivered in partnership with NFU Mutual Isle of Wight and Southern Water.
We look forward to welcoming everyone who has booked to Newclose Cricket Ground at 18:30 on Thursday 4 June for what promises to be an important and timely discussion for Island farmers and land managers.
