Our Sale West is a registered CIC, Charity number 117262. We help residents make their community a better place to live in, now and in the future.

We also run Sale Community Support Hub, helping the residents of Sale access emergency food and support. You have probably heard that the community on Sale West Estate has been allocated £1million by the Big Lottery’s Big Local programme, to be spent over the next 10 years, to help improve quality of life on the estate. A Steering Group has been set up, composed of a majority of people from the estate, and we have started putting into action what the community has asked for. If you have any ideas then please let us know. Let’s be creative and make this money really work for the long-term advantage of the residents of Sale West!

We recently held a reception to recognise our Trafford Circle volunteers and clients as part of Community Transport Week. The event gave us the opportunity to thank our volunteer drivers for their service and also gave clients the chance to mingle with others. We also recognised one of our original volunteer drivers Georgie with a special gift. A big thank you to all of our volunteers and clients for your support.

Women and girls are invited to Ride and Rise Trafford— TedxTrafford's FREE Women & Girls Cycling Confidence Project, funded by Transport for Greater Manchester.

This friendly programme is designed to help participants build confidence, boost wellbeing and connect with others, while exploring cycling as an affordable way to enjoy everyday journeys.

Taking place 29–31 October, activities include:

• An online confidence and wellbeing workshop.
• Women and girls’ cycling sessions in Longford Park, Stretford, and Timperley.
• A practical Bike Doctor maintenance and safety workshop.
• Refreshments, conversation and a supportive confidence circle.

Support with travel costs or a childcare contribution may be available for participants on low incomes, subject to agreement and availability.

The weather outside may be frightful today but we are looking ahead to our coach trip to York in December! You can visit some of the city's Christmas markets and do some Christmas shopping, go on a cruise around the city, enjoy York's Chocolate Story, or even join Santa on a tour of York.

The fun takes place on Saturday 5 December.

Pick-up: Outside Sale West Community Centre, Newbury Avenue, M33 4QW at 9am (please note the updated time!).

Return coach departs York: 6pm.
