A day off work so I did a partial pick of Queens Park.
Collected 2 full bags in an hour before the rain came down.
Damage to the fence around the 5-a-side courts and lots of broken glass around the picnic tables. Other than that nothing unusual to report!

Taking a little break from work this week so went out this morning and picked around the Peter Street / Kirkland Street area.
Collected 4 bags of litter - all the usual cans & bottles, some electrical cables, a discarded bike tyre and a dead seagull!

The Cricketers Arms litter picking group had their inaugural pick this morning. Thankyou to everyone who contributed.
Many thanks to Cllr Michelle Sweeney for helping provide equipment to get the group started.
The group made a start clearing around the Peter Street area.
We have equipment available to lend out for future picks - all we need is a few more of the local residents to come along and take part.
It’s a great way to contribute towards improving the local area and brings the community together in such a positive way.
Want to join us next time?
Keep watching for more details. Discussions today indicated that a monthly pick would be more suitable than weekly. I’ll post on socials with a date soon.

Litter pick at 11am tomorrow morning at The Cricketers Arms, Peter Street.
Meet in the car park shelter adjacent to the pub for an 11am start please.
If you have your own equipment it would be helpful if you could bring it with you. I have 12 grabbers, 6 bag hoops, hi-vis vests and plenty of orange bags.
Weather forecast looks good but please dress appropriately.
The pick area will be Peter Street (and the closes off it), Kirkland Street and possibly Queens Park.
You can pick for as long as you like but the pub opens at noon so we can have a chat (drink if you want one!) and plan for the future.
See you tomorrow!

Good news!

Councillor Michelle Sweeney and St Helens Borough Council have kindly provided me with some litter picking equipment so I’m looking for a few volunteers to join a group starting from next Sunday (19th April) to litter pick around the Peter Street area.

We will meet at The Cricketers Arms pub at 11am on Sunday mornings and pick for an hour or so before returning to The Cricks where anyone who wants to can have a bit of a chat and social pint.

I’m hoping this will appeal to residents local to Peter Street and the surrounding community, but it’s open to anyone.
If you have your own litter picking equipment please bring it with you. I have a dozen grabbers, hi-viz vests (including kid’s size) and half a dozen bag hoops.

Let me know in the comments if you’re coming please.
