Based on Organic Orchards farm, the farm is our classroom with fields, woods, and garden beds where kids can explore, follow their curiosity, and shape their own learning journey!

What a beautiful day we had on Sunday Open Day, as part of the Big Green Festival!

We couldn’t have pulled it all together without our community of wonderful people so huge gratitude to everyone who volunteered their time.

The chicks are in their new home! The children helped to take them from their nursery pen & get them settled outside, making sure they had food, water & a safe coop. We’ll be checking this at every session as part of our learning - how to care for animals on the farm, tend to the land & practice environmental stewardship.

Come & meet them this Sunday at our FREE Farm Open Day . Sunday 14th June, 1-4pm as part of ’s Big Green Festival.

🦋It’s Butterfly Week - we’ll be learning about their lifecycle, crafting some caterpillars, making a giant painting, checking in on our chicks who have a new outdoor coop & planting some things out in the allotment ready for our Open Day on Sunday 14th June.

🪶 We’re situated on an organic farm just outside of Saffron Walden, Essex

🌿 Walden’s Little Wildlings Open Day 🌿

As part of the Big Green Festival, we’d love to welcome you to our open day at Organic Orchards on Sunday 14th June, from 1–4pm.

Come and explore our nature-led education hub, where children are encouraged to learn, play & grow through time spent outdoors. We’ll have hands-on crafts & activities, lots of free play opportunities & plenty of space to roam in our meadow & to get your hands muddy in our community allotment.

Bring a picnic rug, enjoy tea & cake from , take a wander through our newly planted woodland and spend a relaxed afternoon connecting with nature.

Walden’s Little Wildlings is a nature-based learning community . We provide children with opportunities to explore the outdoors, develop practical skills, learn environmental stewardship & build a connection with the natural world through hands-on experiences & seasonal activities.

Whether you’re interested in outdoor learning, growing food, sustainability, or simply looking for a lovely afternoon in the countryside, we’d love to see you there.
