✨ Meet the faces behind The Shed ✨
Now let’s meet Sarah 🧡
With nearly 20 years of experience in Human Resources, Sarah has always been passionate about helping people grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. Her career has been rooted in coaching, mentoring, and developing individuals, supporting them to build confidence and achieve their goals.
After becoming a mum, her focus naturally shifted towards working with young people. Moving into the education sector, Sarah has supported children with special educational needs and taken on pastoral coaching roles across both primary and secondary settings. These experiences have given her a deeper understanding of the challenges many young people face.
After hearing Jen’s story and the support being created through The Shed, Sarah knew this was something she wanted to be part of.
She is passionate about creating safe, supportive environments where young people feel heard, valued, and empowered. Sarah believes in nurturing resilience, building confidence, and offering the guidance every young person needs to overcome challenges and realise their potential.
She is proud to be part of The Shed community, helping to make a meaningful difference for young people and families

✨ Meet the faces behind The Shed ✨
Now let’s meet Katie 🧡
Katie is a mum of 2 with a real passion for bringing people together. When the opportunity to volunteer came along, she knew straight away this was something she couldn’t turn down.
As a natural community builder, Katie cares deeply about creating spaces where local families feel connected, supported, and understood. She knows first-hand that as children grow, the challenges shift and change, and support needs to evolve with them.
After hearing Jen’s story, Katie recognised just how many families are facing these challenges without the support they need. She knew she wanted to be part of something that could change that.
Katie is all about building strong, supportive communities for families locally, because no one should feel like they’re navigating it all alone

✨ Meet the faces behind The Shed ✨
Now let’s meet Carly 🧡
Carly’s work is deeply rooted in her own recovery journey, alongside years of pastoral care and youth work. Her experiences have shaped a real understanding of what young people need when they’re navigating challenges.
Through supporting children and young people in schools and community settings, Carly has seen just how important it is for them to have safe, trusted adults around them, people who truly listen without judgement while also offering clear and supportive boundaries.
Her approach is grounded, compassionate, and real, creating spaces where young people feel heard, valued, and safe.
Because every young person deserves someone in their corner and Carly is proud to be part of that village

✨ Meet the faces behind The Shed ✨
Now let’s meet David 🧡
As a father of three, David brings both lived experience and a deep passion for supporting young people. After nearly a decade teaching water sports in the Mediterranean, and more recently working with youth rugby, he has seen first-hand the powerful impact sport can have on children.
From building confidence and resilience to creating a sense of belonging, David understands the valuable life skills that come from being part of a team and staying active.
His approach is all about encouragement, connection, and helping young people grow both on and off the field.
At the heart of it all is a belief in teamwork and community

✨ Meet the faces behind The Shed ✨

Let’s start with Jen 🧡

Jen is a mum who truly understands what it feels like to watch your child struggle and to feel overlooked by the very systems that are meant to support and protect them. It’s a place no parent ever expects to be and one that can feel incredibly lonely.

But from that pain came something powerful.
Driven by a mix of love, frustration, and fierce determination, Jen created The Walden Shed, a space built on the belief that when systems fall short, community can step in and hold you up.

Because sometimes, what families need most isn’t another form or waiting list, it’s connection, understanding, and a place where they feel seen.

At the heart of it all is a simple truth: it takes a village to raise a child and Jen is helping to rebuild that village, one family at a time
