🚓 Cadets in Action – Keeping Glossop Safe 🚓

Our Volunteer Police Cadets have been out in Glossop supporting local officers with roadside speed checks as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety in the community.
In just 45 minutes, the cadets monitored 81 vehicles — and we’re pleased to report 0 drivers were found speeding 👏

This is a fantastic reflection of responsible driving in the area and shows the positive impact of visible policing and community engagement.

👏 A brilliant effort from our cadets, who continue to demonstrate professionalism, confidence, and a real commitment to keeping their communities safe.

🚦 Remember: Speed limits aren’t targets – they’re there to protect everyone.

A huge thank you to all the applicants who attended our Ripley Cadet recruitment session last night.

We had 25 young people join us, taking the first step to get to know what the cadet programme is all about. It takes real confidence to turn up to something new on your own, and every single one of you should be proud of that.

Unfortunately, we do have limited places available in each section, which means we won’t be able to offer everyone a spot this time. Please don’t let that knock your enthusiasm – showing up is already a big achievement, and we hope to see many of you again in the future.

And we’re doing it all again tonight for our Derby and Chesterfield Cadet sections – we’re looking forward to meeting another group of young people ready to get involved. 👏

Thank you again for your interest and effort – it really means a lot to us.

🇬🇧 Derbyshire Police Cadets at the Colonel’s Review & Trooping the Colour 🇬🇧

Last weekend, Derbyshire Police Cadets had the incredible honour of attending the Colonel’s Review of Trooping the Colour in London – a fantastic opportunity to witness one of the nation’s most iconic military traditions up close.

From the precision drill to the atmosphere on parade, it was a memorable experience for all involved, showcasing the very best of British ceremonial excellence.
We’re proud to share that our cadets will be returning to London to attend Trooping the Colour itself – a truly special occasion marking the King’s official birthday. 👑

Opportunities like this give our cadets a chance to experience national events, build confidence, and create unforgettable memories.

👏 Well done to all cadets involved – you represented Derbyshire with pride!

Last night, Volunteer Police Cadets from Chesterfield and members of the Dronfield Safer Neighbourhood Team were out raising awareness of vehicle crime, including car theft and theft from vehicles.
Activity outcomes:

Over 700 properties visited
Over 60 insecure vehicles identified

This proactive patrol helped highlight the importance of securing vehicles and removing valuables to reduce opportunities for crime.

Dronfield SNT are holding a street crime prevention surgery, why not come and speak to the team find out information about Policing locally or any issues affecting you in the community

THREADS OF SERVICE 2026 🇬🇧

What a journey.

From a 1AM start yesterday…
Cleaning memorials in the early hours…
To working alongside veterans at RBVE in Kent…

Then into London —
An unknown ramble through the city,
Before being formally welcomed by the Grenadier Guards Sergeant Major and spending time with the Guards themselves.

The day ended somewhere truly special —
Cadets pitching up with some of the most iconic views in the country.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better…
A private visit to the Tower of London for the Ceremony of the Keys before lights out.

Now… we’re on the train home to Derby.
Tired. Proud. Slightly broken… but absolutely buzzing.

One of our most ambitious and unforgettable experiences to date.
