We've enjoyed a fantastic weekend of PSS flying during our 40th Anniversary flagship event with the Harvard Mass Build.

Well over 30 pilots in attendance, and 16 model Harvards/Texans on site over the weekend. Maiden flights were bravely conducted in the high strength SW winds and all the models flew very well!

Congratulations to the winners in our prize 3 categories and big thanks to all those members who helped with the prizes and trophies, with special thanks to Aces High Aviation Gallery who sponsored our first prize and of course RBC Kits who supplied our kits.

Sunday sees us commence day 2 of our PSSA 40th Anniversary Mass Build weekend having enjoyed a superb day on the big rock on Saturday.

Although the MB competition is run and all the prizes have been given out - there’s still a huge amount of flying ahead today with good strength NW winds forecast.

With less than a week to go before we meet at The Great Orme to celebrate our 40th Anniversary with the Mass Build, Harvards and Texans all over the country - indeed the world - are being finished in readiness. More details on some of those who have already finished on the RCM&E forum here -

After a partially successful day yesterday with light NNW winds, today’s forecast is calmer still and a decision has been made to cancel the PSS event at the Bwlch.

Members local in the area are heading down to Cardiff to explore the South Wales Aviation Museum at the ex-RAF St Athan.

Flying is underway from the Ice Cream Slope at the Bwlch as we commence the 5th planned event of our 40th Anniversary season.

10-15mph NNW winds at the moment meaning we’re starting the day with the lighter models - Dave Gilder leading the way with his Vulcan!

Following a successful days flying on Saturday, today’s PSSA event (Sunday 2nd August 2026) has been cancelled at The White Horse, Westbury, due to light Easterly wind conditions.

Well, that's the PSSA's annual trip to the Lleyn Peninsula complete for another season. 5 superb days of soaring from the magnificent Cilan Head (NW and SW winds) near Abersoch, North Wales.

Some memorable soaring had by all - A huge thank you to those who travelled far to attend, and of course to the Lleyn MAC committee for hosting us, and 'Congratulations!' to the event category winners;
