We recently had 14 wonderful people come together in the Rickmansworth community garden to make pollinator friendly hanging baskets, and what a sunny glorious day it was!

The workshop provided a demonstration, tips and a chance to get hands on. Everyone took their finished baskets home and we take the big smiles on their faces that they thoroughly enjoyed themselves 🌸😊

One of our participants said they learnt so much from Ted who led the workshop, even coming away with extra gardening tips for raised vegetable gardens!

Missed this one? We have another of Ted’s hugely popular hanging basket workshops on Sunday 18th October in our Autumn season events. Sign up to our newsletter and follow us on social media to hear about ticket releases.

Data Centres!

Love them or loathe them they have a big impact on the local energy supply.

Last year GUCE received funding from GB Energy's Community Fund to look into how waste heat from a data centre could be used to give energy bill security and resilience to local residents.

With the Abbots Langley Data Centre approved by the Inspector in 2025 our heat network team has been working hard to look at how the development can benefit residents.

This study is now coming to it's completion and we'll be hosting a community event to share the findings and get your thoughts on:

Tuesday 28th April at 7pm
Manor House in Abbots Langley WD5 0DD

Can waste heat from the planned Data Centre be used to heat local homes in Abbots Langley?

Have your say – we want to hear your thoughts on using renewables to heat homes in the area.

Find out how working as a community could cut carbon, lower costs over time, and keep benefits local.

GUCE is a non profit Community Energy organisation that supports energy resilience in South West Hertfordshire. We are run by volunteers and this project is looking at what could be possible to hear the views of the local community.
