Let’s embrace Men’s Health Week 2026 as a time to raise awareness, foster open conversations, and empower men to take control of their physical and mental well-being.

Together, we can make a difference and inspire a healthier future for all. 🫴💗

National Best Friends Day is a heartwarming annual observance that celebrates the meaningful and supportive relationships we share with our closest friends.

Recognised on June 8th each year, the day encourages people to appreciate their best friends, express gratitude, and make time to reconnect. Whether it’s through a call, a heartfelt message, or a shared adventure, it’s the perfect opportunity to honour the people who make life better simply by being in it.

A chance to reflect on the role of close friendships in our emotional wellbeing, resilience, and joy. While the origins of the day are unclear, its sentiment resonates universally acknowledging that friendships are vital for a fulfilling life. 🫴💗

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗢’𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 was founded in memory of 27-year-old Mary O’Gara who was lost to su***de on 30 May 2020. We are a not-for-profit charity and run by Mary’s family with the help of Mary’s friends and our wonderful volunteers.
💗🫴
In the UK, su***de is the single biggest killer in young people under the age of 35. Each day 5 young people take their lives, and some 200 school children die each year from Su***de. Research shows that with appropriate intervention and support; su***de can be prevented.
💗🫴
We are an organisation dedicated to the prevention of young su***de. By addressing the causes of su***de in young people and fostering positive conversations around mental health and su***de prevention across Lancashire and the whole of the North West, we hope that fewer families and friends have to suffer the devastating ripple effect su***de causes.
💗🫴
We achieve our aims by spreading awareness and information – primarily in the following forms:
Training – the Foundation provides fully funded su***de prevention training to those responsible for young people across Lancashire, including in schools, colleges, universities clubs and businesses It provides the tools needed to identify and support a young person in crisis.
💗🫴
Awareness – promoting positive discussion around the issue of su***de, empowering people and communities to identify and respond to those in need and encouraging anyone who is struggling to seek help by breaking the stigma surrounding su***de.
