Strong relationships provide a strong foundation for life 🩡

Life in the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, and Royal Fleet Auxiliary can bring unique challenges, from deployments and time apart to the demands of service. Taking time to invest in your relationship can make all the difference.

βš“ That's why we're pleased to highlight the free Relationship Support Sessions from Marriage Care, designed specifically for Naval couples. You don't need to be experiencing difficulties to take part. Whether you're looking to strengthen your relationship or simply spend meaningful time together, these sessions are designed to help couples build resilience for the future.

πŸ“… Three course series are available throughout 2026, with sessions taking place online at 7:30pm.

To every carer who brings kindness, compassion, and dedication to their role every single day... thank you 🀍

This Carers Week, we want to celebrate the incredible teams at Admiral Jellicoe House and Pembroke House.

Being a carer is about so much more than providing care. It’s about listening, offering reassurance, sharing a smile, and helping Residents feel valued, respected, and at home. It’s about building trust and creating moments of comfort that can make all the difference.

Day and night, our carers go above and beyond to support our Residents with dignity, patience, and compassion. Their commitment helps create the warm and welcoming communities that make our Care Homes so special.

To every member of our care teams, thank you for the difference you make. Not just through what you do, but through the kindness and humanity you bring to every interaction.

You embody the values of The RNBT and the spirit of supporting the Naval family through life’s challenges 🩡

Please join us in thanking our fabulous carers for everything they do πŸ©΅βš“

🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈

At The RNBT, we believe that everyone deserves to feel valued, respected, and supported.

Pride Month is an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of the Naval family and to recognise the strength that comes from communities built on acceptance, understanding, and compassion.

Whether someone is serving, former-serving, a reservist, or a family member, we are committed to providing support with kindness, dignity, and respect. Because everyone’s journey is unique, and everyone deserves to know they have somewhere to turn when they need it.

This month, and every month, we stand alongside all members of our community, celebrating the values of inclusion, courage, and belonging.

Connecting with the community 🀍

On Tuesday 2 June , Corinne Day, our Community Engagement Officer, attended the Volunteering Recruitment Event organised by Portsmouth Hive Volunteer Centre at the Fratton Bridge Centre.

It was a great opportunity to meet members of the local community and share more about the work of The RNBT, including the support we provide to Royal Navy Ratings and Royal Marines Other Ranks, both serving and former-serving, and their loved ones.

Corinne also spoke with attendees about volunteering opportunities at Admiral Jellicoe House, our Care Home in Portsmouth, where volunteers play an important role in helping create a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment for Residents.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, and to Portsmouth Hive Volunteer Centre for hosting such a valuable event.

Interested in volunteering with The RNBT? We'd love to hear from you.

Fair winds and following seas, Jack πŸ€βš“

Yesterday, family, friends, serving Royal Navy personnel, veterans, and members of the wider Naval family came together to celebrate the life of John "Jack" Meacham, a much-loved Resident of Admiral Jellicoe House.

Jack passed away at the remarkable age of 106, having lived a life defined by service, resilience, and dedication to others.

A Chief Steward in the Royal Navy, Jack served throughout the Second World War, including on the Arctic Convoys. He later built a varied career as an electrician, handyman, butcher, and gardener, always finding ways to help those around him.

The extraordinary turnout at his funeral was a testament to the respect and admiration he inspired throughout his life. Serving sailors, veterans, standard bearers, family members, and friends gathered to pay tribute to a man whose Naval spirit never left him.

Jack was devoted to his family and remained active and independent well into his later years. He loved travelling, horse racing, football, and classic black-and-white films. Above all, he will be remembered for his kindness, humility, determination, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.

As one family member reflected, it was "the perfect send-off" for a man who had given so much to others throughout his life.

At Admiral Jellicoe House, Jack was a valued member of our community. His stories, humour, and life experiences enriched the lives of Residents and colleagues alike, and his presence will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts remain with Jack's family and loved ones.

Fair winds and following seas, Jack. πŸͺ½βš“
