How do you gauge the impact of a free event?

Footfall?
Promise of return?
Lessons learnt?
A cool hoodie?

My person opinion is that success and impact is best measured by meaningful interactions 👌🏻

You can't control the unpredictable or the unquantifiable, but you can control how you make people, especially children, feel - how impressed you are by what they've created, how much you love that they were willing to give something a go, how imaginative their design was....children thrive from specific praise and grown-ups love watching their little people thrive!

What. An. Outstanding. Day!
Very proud to support the delivery of the Women In Maritime schools event at today.
The young people got to network with some absolutely INCREDIBLE women working in a whole range of Maritime careers, and also do some Shipbuilding and racing with STEM Superstar, Ali Khan from - so engaging and fun and really looks for opportunities to put the quieter children in Team Leader roles, it's such a joy to watch them shine!

Lesley-Anne, Ali and I first worked together years and years and years ago in the STEM outreach team at Chichester Uni, it's like having the band back together 😂❤️❤️❤️

If you have a Dockyard pass or looking for something to do with the family tomorrow, come down and do some STEM activities with me and Ali!

Sad times - the old 'office', Copnor Kitchen is closed on the days that aren't convenient to me. Boo.

Great times - the new 'Office' is LUSH! is good coffee, easy parking, delicious food, its comfortable, lovely staff, plug sockets - everything i want AND you can buy plants at the same time! What a find 🥰

Yesterday I wore my PCEP - Portsmouth Cultural Education Partnership hat for our annual expo 🤠

In a world of squished budgets, i'm proud to be a part of a solution 🥰
If you work in education, specifically in Portsmouth - I strongly recommend that you put PCEP on your radar and look to see how your setting can benefit from all the creatives in our City!

sent me this brilliant photo from the , , funded storybook project with the young people from !
(Yes that is a bit of a mouthful, but I wanted to make sure that I tagged everyone!)

It is so, so awesome to work with these kids, we have so much fun and the creativity falls out of them!

One young person said that they were in B&Q and found something that summed me up completely and gave me this paint swatch! 🤣 I love it so much!

Working with young people isnt just about meeting the outcomes that you set out in the funding bid, it's about all the other connections that are made throughout the process. You can't be what you can't see, and that includes grownups being a bit silly, or loud, or struggling to find the right words, or challenging thoughts, or laughing at mistakes, or celebrating the little things....being all these things gives young people the permission to be these things too 💜💜💜

Today was a festive treat at - I made some sustainable tinsel and met lovely Celia who wrote this FANTASTIC book about the Tricorn! I bought it immediately and can't wait to get stuck in 🤓

It's been a incredible privilege to be of support to so many female (TWIA) entrepreneurs via The Lark Network. At each event, whether it's Startup Sunday - our monthly networking community for women starting their own business, The Lark Lunchbreak - a lunch date for women running their own business, who regularly work solo hustling their hustle, or the Writers Retreat - a female entrepreneur CPD day, I meet different women with different passions and skills and visions, and as we all know, 'a rising tide lifts all ships'. Portsmouth is very very lucky to have communities like Lark 🐦

Book workshops are done! The text has been sent to and she’s given us exciting updates - the imagery and design concepts created by our young participants are coming together beautifully! We can’t wait to share more sneak peeks with you soon.
