Thanks to everyone who attended our Annual Parents' Night last Friday evening. It was a terrific night and the boys all did themselves and the Company proud and put on a great show πŸ‘Œ.

Thanks go to our guest of honour Councillor Kyle Moutray for being there and for your continued support. Huge thanks also to the parents and grandparents who get the boys to BB, and turned out smartly, each and every week πŸ‘.

Last but definitely not least, thanks to the boys for their commitment to the Company throughout the session and we look forward to seeing them all back again next session ❀️.

Here are some pics and clips from the night, but with our Officers all very busy we are very short of Anchor Boys and Junior Section, so if anyone has any please post them in the comments below πŸ“·.

Our boys took part in a very enjoyable and competitive Portadown & District Battalion, Boys' Brigade Tug Of War competition in Tartaraghan Sports Hall last Saturday night.

Our thanks go to 5th Portadown Boys Brigade, Tartaraghan for hosting the event and for loaning us a boy to complete our 14-and-under team, and we were more than happy to reciprocate with a boy to help them field a team in the 18-and-under competition 🀝. Also, our best thanks to William Montgomery of Ballyhegan Tug of War Club for the loan of mats for a couple of practice sessions in recent weeks πŸ‘.

The boys all did really well and we congratulate 1st Redrock Company on winning both competitions πŸ’ͺπŸ†.

Last weekend (6th-8th March) our Company Section and P7 Junior Section boys had their annual weekend away at the Portadown & District Battalion, Boys' Brigade Rocky Mountain Centre in the Mournes in chilly, but thankfully dry weather, and with some very welcome sunshine thrown in too 😎.

The trip saw the boys partake in plenty of activities, including a very pleasant mountain walk to Pierce's Castle, archery, a climbing wall, ten-pin bowling, rugby and football on the lawn, Sunday morning worship at Rathfriland Baptist Church, a wee dip in the river for some hardy boys πŸ₯Ά, and the now traditional draughts tournament, won this year by Ben W πŸ‘πŸ₯‡πŸ†. As always, we were well nourished with plenty of delicious food too 😍🍽!

The boys were a credit to themselves and their families and worked hard all weekend, helping with dishes, setting tables, fetching coal and logs, cleaning etc.. πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ

Everyone returned home exhausted after a brilliant and very busy weekend that was greatly enjoyed by all! β›°πŸ₯ΎπŸŽ―πŸŽ³βš½οΈπŸ‰β›ͺοΈπŸ“–

Our Company Section boys enjoyed a trip to the historic Brownlow House in Lurgan on Wednesday evening.

David Martin MBE gave a presentation on some of the great history of the Castle, particularly its hosting of American soldiers during World War II, and took the boys on a tour of some of the beautiful rooms and the WW2 museum, which contains many fantastic exhibits.

It was a very interesting and educational evening and our thanks go to David for his time and knowledge both this week and earlier in the session when he came and delivered a presentation to the boys on Operation Banner during 'The Troubles'.

We were very honoured to be hosted recently by the Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council, Alderman Stephen Moutray, in Craigavon Civic Centre for a reception to mark the 7️⃣5️⃣th Anniversary of our Company, which fell during the 2024/25 BB session.

We had a wonderful evening and we thank the Lord Mayor very much for his support, and also Councillor Kyle Moutray, Lavelle McIlwrath and Jonathan Buckley MLA, who we were delighted to have in attendance as well, for what was a very proud occasion for our Company πŸŽ‰β€οΈ.

Sure and Steadfast we remain βš“οΈπŸ“–.
