Why not come along and get to know others from the local community and have a free cuppa and a slice of cake at the same time.

The Great Get Together is the UK’s annual celebration of everything that connects our communities, inspired by Jo Cox’s belief that we have more in common than that which divides us.

This year’s Great Get Together will take place on 19-21 June 2026 and will mark 10 years since MP Jo Cox was killed.

Our event is on Saturday 20th June from 2pm until 4pm and we look forward to seeing you there for a cuppa and a slice of cake.
Many of us remember how, in the days that followed Jo’s murder, people responded not with fear, but with something Jo believed in deeply: connection. Neighbours came together. Differences were set aside. Communities chose unity over division.

This anniversary is not just about remembrance. It is a moment of choice.

The Great Get Together is a simple but powerful way to honour Jo’s legacy and show what community really means.

Today is the Summer Tonteg Community Market from 10am until 12.30pm.

We are an indoor event so no need to worry about the weather today.

Why not pop along we have lots on offer with something for all ages, including your furry friends.

There will be handmade items made by talented local people including items made from wood, glass or resin, along with story book cushions, sweets, artwork, natural dog treats, wax melts/candles, photographs, brownies, bags, sweets, cider and fresh bread and much more.

There will refreshments on offer, tea and coffee donated by Fairtrade Pontypridd Masnach Deg along with homemade cake and corned beef pie.

Our ever popular raffle and lucky dip will be there which along with the refreshments will raise money for MNDA.
