With it being National Cadets Week, we want to hear from the people who were once part of Torfaen Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets! 💙

Being a cadet is about so much more than uniforms and parade nights. It’s about the skills you pick up, the challenges you overcome, the friendships you make and the confidence you build along the way.

So, former cadets, we want to know…

Maybe you’re a parent, teacher, business owner, nurse, engineer, member of the Armed Forces, volunteer, professional, or simply someone who still carries the lessons you learned as a cadet with you today.

If you love getting out on the water and are aged between 10 and 18, join Torfaen Sea Cadets for the time of your life.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to get to know other young people in the area and you will make some great friends, learn new skills that will give you a great head start in life and will really boost your confidence.”

Do you have enthusiasm and a passion for working with young people from a variety of backgrounds?

Would you like the opportunity to apply this passion in a meaningful role to launch young people for life, whilst also enhancing your skills, boosting your self-esteem and meeting new people?

The Sea Cadets is the UK’s leading maritime charity and provides a head start in life for young people through nautical adventure and fun. Part of the Sea Cadets family, Royal Marines Cadets enjoy all the exciting activities on water that Sea Cadets offer, branching off into serious adventure training too. Specialising in orienteering, field craft and weapons handling makes Royal Marines Cadets unique. Our volunteers work, both directly with young people and behind the scenes, to help make a positive difference to teenagers who are often struggling in today’s world and their communities.
Torfaen Royal Marines Cadets, based in Pontnewydd, is currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join their team as Sea Cadet and Royal Marines Cadet Instructors.
There are free training courses available for you to develop new skills, boost your CV and support you in this role. These tasks can also be divided between volunteers, so why not come along with a friend and share the experience?

MAKE MORE OF YOUR FREE TIME AND VOLUNTEER WITH TORFAEN SEA CADETS

TORFAEN Sea Cadets needs volunteers who are happy to roll up their sleeves, get involved and make a positive difference to the lives of young people in the area.
Volunteers are supported by a network of other volunteers and employees. As a new volunteer, you will receive an induction and will be given training and support to make you feel comfortable in your role. Sea Cadets is always there to provide ongoing help and support.

Last night we said goodbye to one of our cadets. Grace has been a cadet at the unit for 4 years but now leaves us to embark on a career with the Royal Navy. Good luck Grace from all at Torfaen Sea Cadets.
