More details about Armada Way's official reopening on Saturday 4 July. 🎉

The opening event promises a full day of entertainment for all ages. Visitors can enjoy live music, dance performances, street theatre, and a range of family-friendly activities throughout the day.

The newly created play village—spanning the size of five championship tennis courts—will open for the first time, alongside the activation of Armada Way’s water features.

Celebrations will extend across the city centre, with Wimbledon screened live on the big screen in the Piazza, free sessions on the city centre padel court, and a continental market along New George Street. Old Town Square will host live performances as part of the popular Saturday Sessions from 1pm.

This landmark event signals a new chapter for Plymouth city centre, inviting residents and visitors alike to rediscover Armada Way and enjoy its refreshed spaces.

Entertainment

Across the day there will be a range of entertainment to enjoy on the newly-opened spaces. This includes:

🔸Live Music – Listen to live music from Weapons of Sound.

🔸Captain Jack – Look out for the ultimate pirate who will be patrolling the all-new pirate ship on Armada Way.

🔸Giant Seagulls – Keep your eyes peeled for the life size pair of seagulls swooping around the streets!

🔸Stiltwalkers – Grab a picture with the unmissable stiltwalkers across the day.

🔸Higher Beings Circus Workshop – Enjoy circus performances throughout the day.

🔸Doodle Wall – This vibrant, collaborative artwork will attract children and adults alike, inspiring creativity and inviting everyone to get involved.

Alongside the entertainment there is a range of exhibitors to visit and explore throughout the day. Among the exhibitors coming to the Armada Way opening event are:

A Continental Market is coming to Plymouth City Centre to coincide with the final week of Wimbledon on the Big Screen from 4-12 July.

Head to New George Street in Plymouth City Centre where you'll find an array of traders serving food, arts and crafts from across the world.

The market is one of of a number of events taking place across the week as well as Saturday Sessions at Old Town Square (4 July), Armada Way opening party (4 July) and Live at the Amphitheatre (12 July)
