Good luck to our women's team who are taking part in their first festival today at south hetton cricket club. Any and all support is welcome!

Also reminder that our women's section hold a women's and girls only training session every Monday evening at 6pm at the cricket ground in Horden. Anyone wanting to give it a go pop along, theres no equipment or experience needed!

🏇🏼🏏 Horden CWCC - Race Night 🏇🏼🏏

…..TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT at 8:00pm…..

A quick reminder for anyone who loves a flutter on the horses, get involved and head down to the Horden Cricket Club this coming Saturday 13th June 2026 for our Race Night.

Here is a quick summary of how the evening works…

Race Prizes:

💥The stakes are high with prizes paid out in "pint cheques" to the ‘owner(s)’ of the winning horse from each race. Owners of the standard race winners will receive 2x pint cheques per race, with the winner of the Grand Final receiving 6x pint cheques.

💥If you’re not a horse owner, don’t worry… You can place your bets for each race at the HCWCC ‘tote’. Prices will be one of the King’s pounds (£1) per bet.

Horse Ownership, Race Sponsorship & Support:

💥Local businesses or individuals are invited to support the club by sponsoring a race for the bargain price of £10. It’s an affordable way to get your name, or indeed your company’s name out there while supporting local sport.

💥People can also ‘own’ a horse within one of our 7x races on the night - 8x horses per race. To own a horse will cost £2.50, and if you’re the lucky owner, you will receive pint cheques as per the above.

How to get involved:

If you want to sponsor a race, buy tickets, or just check the start time, the club recommends that you can leave a comment on Facebook, message (DM) directly to the official Horden Cricket Club page or reach out to Lewis Broom for further details.

So, get this Saturday (13th June) in to your diaries and come and have a fun filled evening.

Horden Cricket Club have partnered with Opening Up Cricket - it’s not weak to speak, to support and promote awareness around Men’s mental health!

We lose on average 15 men a day to su***de 💔 that’s more than a full village cricket team A DAY!!!

Our very own Kieran Hill has posted the following whilst showing his support with a wristband:

“Lads it’s ok to speak and it’s ok to ask for help! As a man who has broken in the past I understand how easy it is to hide away from it and as men we just find it harder to talk….

Well my inbox is always open if you ever need to chat. I can’t promise I can tell you ‘I know how you feel’ but I’m a good listener…..

I would much rather listen to you then read about you ❤️😞❤️

Yesterday I got my bracelet and bat stickers that I shall be rocking for the entirety on the 2026 season (not just the one month that’s allocated to it, mental health is a year round problem)”.
