The Royal British Legion is the UK's leading Armed Forces charity and one of its largest membership organisations. Members get together through the network of branches and clubs all over the country and overseas to participate in social, fundraising and welfare activities. Our branch meets at 1100hrs every 1st Sunday of each month at Childers Sports and Social Club, Station Road Whittlesey. Member

ship is open to everyone. If you have an interest in the objectives of the Legion and want to help and support those who have served and their families, come and join us. We welcome men and women of all ages, whether they have served in the Armed Forces or not. The Whittlesey Royal British Legion Annual Dinner Dance was rocking at the Indoor Bowls Complex last night.

The member of the year award was presented to Kevin Mc Kevitt for his commitment, dedication and willingness to assist others.

Big thanks to Allison for the amazing food and table service supplied by all her staff that ensured the evening went smoothly. Also, thanks to everyone who kindly donated raffle prizes, they were very much appreciated.

Outstanding entertainment was provided by In the Mood,
they ensured the dance floor was full all evening and that everyone went home late and happy.

At the Royal British Legion Whittlesey Branch first meeting of 2026 today at the Whittlesey Masonic Lodge, we had a visit from the local Poppy Blitz team who kindly donated £670.50 to the RBL Whittlesey Branch Poppy Appeal. What a fantastic gesture from the ladies of the Poppy Blitz Team, very much appreciated. 👍👏💂‍♂️

The Whittlesey Royal British Legion had their final meeting of 2025 at the Whittlesey Masonic Lodge at 1100hrs this morning.

Today’s meeting was a special occasion as we celebrated with our Senior Member Wally Newman RN.

Presentations were given to Wally by Lt Commander Mark Van De Burgh on behalf of Navy Command, Lt Col (Retd) Tony Cattermole RA on behalf of Officers and Members of the Whittlesey Royal British Legion and many letters and best wishes read out by Vice Chairman Kevin McKevitt.

Wally will celebrate his 100th birthday on the 24th December 2025. We all wish him a happy birthday and a fabulous Christmas and New Year.
