Compas Charity UK

Compas Charity UK Compas Charity is a dynamic cultural centre dedicated to advocacy, mentoring, ECD, and celebrating cultural diversity.

We provide essential services that empower communities, promote inclusion, and foster a sense of belonging in British society. Relief in need of members of migrant communities by the provision of advice, support and information or in any other way required; and by engaging with service providers, public bodies, institutions and organisations to enable those entities to better adapt their services,

policies and activities to the needs of the migrant communities. Promotion of social inclusion for the public benefit by working with people who are socially excluded on the grounds of their ethnic origin, religion, belief or creed (in particular, members of the Roma community) by developing the capacity and skills of members of that community to assist them to integrate with and participate more fully in society. The advancement of citizenship and community development by promoting a better understanding within British society; and by promoting civic responsibility, good citizenship and volunteering

The advancement of education (including social and physical training) of people in such ways as the charity trustees think fit, including by promoting the learning of native languages (including but not limited to Czech and Slovak); supporting parents to engage with their children’s education; and mentoring and coaching young people.

Celebrating Ukraine’s Independence Day in Peterborough 🇺🇦😊

It was wonderful to be part of today’s celebration marking the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, alongside the Ukrainian community and friends of Ukraine in Peterborough!

After the celebrations in Cathedral Square, we welcomed everyone to Compas Charity for a screening of the Ukrainian film БожеВільні (Diagnosis: Dissent) - a powerful story about freedom and the right to think and choose for yourself

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the screening and spent the evening together. A special thank you also goes to the organisers and everyone who contributed to today’s celebration 💙💛

What if history could come to life?

This fascinating AI-created video brings old postcards and photographs of Roma people from across Europe to life, giving movement and expression to faces captured more than a century ago.

Behind every historic image was a real person, a family, a community and a story. Using modern technology to revisit these images offers us a powerful new way to connect with Roma history and heritage.

A beautiful meeting of history, memory and technology — and a reminder that Roma history is European history.
