Last week we posted about checking in on those around you but it is just as important to check in on yourself. When we are struggling, whether through stress, burn out or other negative emotions these things are usually the first to be impacted.

Ask yourself these questions.. and take action if the answer to any are no!

Your mental health is just as important as your physical. Look after yourself 🥰

Good Morning everyone,
We often get enquiries regarding volunteering or giving back to the service. Recently due to how busy the service has been our little friends "The Weeds" have got a bit out of control. If there is anyone out there who would like to volunteer help with this please get in touch. Thankyou

Sometimes those struggling the most are the ones we least expect. Those who have a smile painted on their face, check in on everyone else but don't speak about their feelings.

This is why here at the Neuk we believe it is so important to also look at peoples behaviour. Often changes in behaviour can be noticed long before someone speaks about whats going on. We have shared a few of these behaviours below.

If you recognise any of these in people you know, check in. A simple 'how are you doing' or 'fancy a catch up' can remind someone their cared about and you are there to help.🥰

As always, whether you or someone you know is struggling we are always here to help. 9-9 Mon-Fri and 9-5 Sat&Sun.

💜 SIDE BY SIDE AFTER SU***DE 2026 💜

We know that many people within our community, including individuals and families we have supported at The Neuk, have experienced the devastating impact of losing someone to su***de.

Su***de Prevention Scotland is holding a free event in Dundee for anyone who has been bereaved by su***de. It will offer a safe and welcoming opportunity to remember those who have been lost, connect with others who understand and learn more about the support available.

📅 Saturday 5 September 2026
🕙 10.00am–2.30pm
📍 Verdant Works, West Henderson’s Wynd, Dundee, DD1 5BT
🎟️ Free to attend

The programme will include a preview of the Su***de Prevention Scotland documentary, crafts, a gentle walk, music and a memorial service. Refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided.

You are welcome to come and go throughout the day and attend only the sessions you feel comfortable joining. Quiet spaces and listening volunteers will also be available.

Book your free place here:

Happy monday! We hope everyone has had a lovely weekend and is looking forward to the week ahead.

We thought we would share some positivity today-

Bad days and negative feelings cannot last forever. Remember everything in life is temporary. There will be a better day. You will feel happier again. Life is just making way for even better, more beautiful things to come💭

Life can be busy and stressful with never ending commitments and a constant to-do list. Sometimes we forget to take some time for ourselves to reset and recharge. This is important before we can help or provide support to others.

Add some of these ideas to your to-do list this weekend or if anyone has any other suggestions feel free to leave them below in the comments!

Have a great weekend everyone!

And don't forget, we are always here to help!

Negative self talk affects us all. It is hard when going through a difficult time to not let your thoughts spiral and take over your entire outlook on yourself and life.

We should all speak to ourselves the way we speak to others, with kindness and compassion. One opinion or mistake does not equate to who we are as a person.

Next time you are thinking one of these things try to reframe it to the other..

Food for thought on this lovely Friday morning💭

Sometimes it is hard to change your surroundings or your circumstances, but one thing you can take control of and make changes to are your thoughts. Be grateful for the positives in your life and enjoy the small things.

Take time to look after yourself and your mind this weekend, whether that be a long walk, meeting with friends, a treat to yourself or a weekend of doing absolutely nothing and enjoying that. Reset and recharge.

Enjoy your weekends everyone!

And ofcourse, when your mind is not a beautiful place to be and you need a helping hand in changing those thoughts we are here to help.
9-5 all weekend and 9-9 mon to friday. 07916292603.
