Curry's in Perth will recycle those old cables in your "doom drawer"

Are you one of the millions of people who has a ‘drawer of doom’? You know the
one - filled with broken cables, old chargers, tangled headphones and other
unused tech.

You’re not alone - and we’ve got the perfect solution to help save on cupboard
space, and the planet!

This International E-Waste Day, we’re taking part in
Great Cable Challenge. By recycling our cables and other electricals stashed in
our ‘drawer of doom’, the copper and other precious materials can be used
again and again for things like phones, transport, clean energy and even
medical equipment.

You can get involved too! Simply:

We brought a small part of Letham Climate Challenge to Aviva's Perth office this week, and it was amazing to see all the amazing ways Aviva is encouraging sustainability- including in-house beekeepers! 🐝

A whopping 72kg of litter collected today from around Dalreoch Place. ♻️🗑
We have previously reported concerns of litter blowing out of the skips, and the need for the skips to be covered. We'll follow this up, but given the number of glass bottles collected, we cannot only blame the wind.
The Earth is not a rubbish bin, so please take pride and put your rubbish in the bin. 😁

Letham Climate Challenge is a not for profit group promoting a more sustainable lifestyle within the community. We run a Swap Shop where household goods and clothing are swapped reducing the amount of materials going to landfill. Donated items can be used to support new tenants struggling to obtain goods by supplying Starter Packs and other items needed to start and sustain tenancies. We also have a furniture store. LCC have 2 allotment sites encouraging locals to grow their own fruit and vegetables. We also have a community orchard and a green pathway.

Thank you to all our lovely customers for donating to our defibrillator fund. Also a special shout out to Sue and Muriel for the amazing earrings, book marks and pumpkins.

We have so far collected a whopping £1,017.46, which puts a huge dent in the £3,000 we need to reach. 🤩

We are delighted and deeply grateful to have been selected as a recipient of The Enchanted Forest Community Fund. 💜

This generous support will enable Letham Climate Challenge to continue delivering our Emergency Home Basics Referrals Scheme, supporting individuals and families experiencing housing crisis.💛

The scheme provides essential household appliances and furniture to help alleviate hardship, reduce distress, and improve living conditions for those facing challenging circumstances. During our last financial year, we were able to support 230 individuals through this vital service.💚

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to The Enchanted Forest Team and everyone who visits the Enchanted Forest. The proceeds are returned to the local community, helping organisations like ours provide practical and meaningful support where it is needed most. 🩵
