đź’§ Clean Water, Safe Schools đź’§

Following the visit of the Juniper Trust Adventure Aid Nepal volunteer group in November — where educational materials were delivered — it became clear that many school hygiene facilities were in urgent need of repair.

Across several schools, toilets and washing areas were either badly damaged, without water, or simply unusable.

Over the past six weeks, the Juniper Trust has worked alongside local tradesmen to put this right — sourcing materials from Kathmandu and carrying out essential upgrades.

đźš° New pipe systems
🧼 Washing sinks and toilets repaired or replaced
🧽 Hygiene and cleaning education provided

The impact is immediate and powerful. Something as simple as access to clean water can transform a child’s school experience — improving health, dignity, and daily life.

A huge thank you to everyone in Nepal — especially the headteachers and local teams — who made this project such a success 🙏

There is still more to do. Many schools remain in need, and with your support we can continue this vital work.

🌍 Olga has nearly reached her target of £6,000 for the Juniper Trust. Can you help her over the line?

On Christmas Eve she ran seven freezing, windswept laps around a lake in Milton Keynes to raise funds for our work in Nepal. Every lap was powered by the belief that small actions here can create lasting change there.

We are deeply thankful to Olga — and to everyone who has donated so far. We also want to thank Campbell Lutyens for matching donations through their Charity Committee, significantly boosting the total raised.

The funds will plant 5,000 trees in Bhussinga in the lower Everest region, including 1,000 pine, 1,000 peach, 1,000 apricot, 500 walnut and 1,500 bamboo. Through Nepal Evergreen, these trees will restore fragile slopes, build long-term carbon resilience and create sustainable income for local families.

The remaining funds will provide 10 new computers and essential plumbing, toilet and washing facility improvements in rural schools rebuilt after the earthquake.

If you’d like to help push this beyond £6,000, here is Olga’s JustGiving page:

Tree plantation is not just about numbers. It is about survival, biodiversity and long-term impact. Planting a sapling takes a few minutes, Restoring an ecosystem takes years of commitment.

At Nepal Evergreen, we focus on:

• Choosing the right species for the right land
• Protecting biodiversity through native trees
• Working with local farmers for long-term care
• Ensuring saplings grow into forests that absorb carbon and reduce climate risks

As part of our ecological responsibility, Nepal Evergreen ensures that at least 30% of trees planted at every site are native species, strengthening biodiversity and protecting Nepal’s natural heritage.

Because we don’t just plant trees.
We grow forests for the future. đź’š

✨ A grassroots idea with real impact ✨

Last year, following a journey down memory lane in the mountains of northern Pakistan for Amos Doron, and with the support of local volunteer Ayub Khan, the idea emerged to support a women’s vocational centre in Dain, a remote village they came across during their travels.

The idea was to provide new sewing machines so that local women could gain practical skills, confidence, and a sustainable way to earn an income. More than 100 women have now completed training.

We’re now raising funds to support further training and to provide equipment where it’s needed, helping the Dain cooperative continue to grow.

đź’› Small support. Big impact.

HERE’S TO BIG DREAMS!
Only three weeks to go — our partner, Adventure Aid Nepal, is almost ready for departure! They’re gearing up to return to the Kinja Valley, Nepal, bringing essential school supplies, sports equipment, and new learning opportunities to incredible children who deserve every chance to thrive.

This isn’t just a trip — it’s a life-changing mission. Their youngest volunteer this year is only 17! And we need your help to make the biggest impact yet.

Their goal: ÂŁ10,000 to support five schools, create a community library, and plant 1,000 fruit saplings for long-term sustainability. The Juniper Trust has already donated ÂŁ2,000 to help make this happen.

There are 24 days left to boost resources and brighten futures. Every donation, big or small, goes directly where it’s needed most.

Join us, share our mission, and help them hit their target before they go!We look forward to documenting and sharing this adventure with you…
