One weekend. One film. One shot at a festival screening.
The Film Sussex - Crossing The Screen Weekend Film Challenge is open now. Make a film between 24–26 April, and if you’re in the top twenty, you screen at the 10th Eastbourne International Film Festival on 7 May.
The winner goes to Made in Sussex Film Festival 2027, competing for the Best Director prize. Last year it was worth £10,000.
Shoot entirely in Sussex. Maximum five minutes. Spaces are limited.

Have you ever wanted to make a film and actually see it on screen at a festival?

Here's your chance.

We've partnered with Crossing The Screen, the 10th Eastbourne International Film Festival, to bring you a weekend film challenge unlike anything we've run before.

Friday 24 April at 9pm you receive your mandatory elements.
By Sunday 26 April at 11:59pm you upload your finished film.
The top twenty screen at Crossing The Screen on Thursday 7 May at 6pm, and each selected team gets four tickets to the screening.

The winner goes forward to Made in Sussex Film Festival 2027, where they'll compete for the Best Director prize. Last year that prize was worth £10,000.

Rules are simple: shoot entirely in Sussex, over the weekend, using all mandatory elements. Maximum five minutes.
