Apologies to all regarding lack of updates from our end recently. Solicitor stuff, unfortunately. We hope the situation will move on in the next few weeks.

For over 100 years, Mary has looked out over our Bay from high up.

And you probably never even noticed......

Not many have. Sadly, when her lights went out, when the trees grew higher than the building, she was no longer a beacon for the area like she used to be.

Our ever-enthusiastic Linda Wilson is currently looking into the absolute base history of the Monastery area - The old map here is from the mid 1800's and shows "Quarry House"..... Our challenge is to find out if the comparison map here is spot on and the house was where the residential area is now......Or possibly, it was a bit further north west, and therefore right on the site of the Monastery, in which case does any remain!

We have so many questions to ask, and look forward to revealing the answers.

I have some exciting news about Paignton Monastery this is thanks to Richard our architect advisor, Mike a keen active member of the team as well as the new Paignton Monastery CIC.
This is an amazing opportunity for the community to learn more about the historic building and future plans.
Paignton Monastery have an Exhibition scheduled to be on show this Saturday 11th April at 9:30am to 4pm and again Saturday 18th April at Paignton Library.
This is a chance to meat some of the dedicated team who have worked hard to bring together an exciting project for Clifton with Maidenway as well as Paignton as a whole.
They have interesting facts, diagrams and models to share with you all.
Paignton Monastery CIC would love everyone involved, whatever your thoughts are and help you can offer. 🙏
I am sure it would be greatly appreciated. 😀
