Oswestry Cambrian Rotary recently became the first Rotary Club in Shropshire to sign up to the Armed Forces Covenant. In signing the Covenant, club members are committing themselves to recognise the particular issues faced by serving and ex service personnel and their families. We meet on a Thursday at 7.30pm for 8 00pm in the bar at the Wynnstay Hotel, Church Street, Oswestry, SY11 2SX. For those that cannot attend our Rotary in person, we have a Zoom link so anyone can join us from anywhere... . What a fantastic evening we had at the Guildhall celebrating some of the clubs and organisations we have supported this year and a very big thank you to Graham Mitchell (Grum) for coming to record this event for us.

Last night one of our members Michael Beynon came to show us his recently gained 2 medals. The first was for completing the London Marathon the second was for completing the Outlaw Triathlon. Michael open water swam for 750 metres cycled for 20 kilometres and ran 5 kilometres.He completed it in 2 hours 29 minutes ! He was raising money for Hope House , Mencap and Maggies cancer Centre

We also presented a cheque for £1000 to the Calon branch of the RDA. This money was raised from your kind donations with the Santa Sleigh and our Tree of Lights Thank you

A busy day for the club firstly a meeting at The Movement Centre to discuss our up and coming Oswalds Trail walk on August 2nd.
Then to judge a cookery competition at NS college.
The standard was very high and difficult to choose winners. There were 2 classes year 1 and year 3.
Rotary gave first second and third prizes for each class.
