Portaferry Gala Festival Directors, Committee and Members wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the families and friends of two highly esteemed past members, Eddie McGee and Jackie Whiteside, following their recent passing.

Both Eddie and Jackie gave many years of valued voluntary service to Portaferry Gala Festival and played their part in helping to make the Gala the much loved community tradition it is today.

Their commitment, support and contribution to the Festival over the years will be remembered with great appreciation and affection by all within the Gala family.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with their families, friends and loved ones at this sad time.

RIP Eddie and Jackie.

Our littlest Gala supporters had the biggest smiles on Friday as they got to meet the one and only Ms Rachel! 💛🎤

There was plenty of singing, dancing, waving and giggling as our little stars enjoyed a magical afternoon with everyone’s favourite teacher. 🫶

A huge thank you to Ms Rachel for making so many special memories, and to all the families who came along. Seeing so many happy faces made it a truly wonderful part of Gala Fest 2026! 🥰✨

Thank you to event sponsor Ciara Eneas (EL Electrical & Maintenance)
