Following our successful launch, the Teign Community Store is now open every Thursday from 2.30pm to 4.00pm at Number 11, Queensway House, Buckland, TQ12 4BA.

Those who have already visited have been delighted with the range of products available and have given us excellent feedback, including several 5-star reviews.

Our aim is to support families and individuals by providing lower priced food than you'd find in the supermarkets. We know the cost of a weekly food shop is on the rise, and we want to help make your money stretch further.

We were really pleased to be able to open the Teign Community Store yesterday as part of our ongoing work to support families and individuals within the Teignbridge District who are finding life a bit tough at the moment. The Store will be open every Thursday between 2.30pm and 4pm in Number 11, Queensway House, Buckland, TQ12 4BA. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee what will be available each week.

We're delighted to be working with FareShare South West who supplied us with excess food that we can then redistribute to others.

The Mayor of Newton Abbot, Councillor Louise Cook, was in attendance and very kindly cut the ribbon for us, declaring the Teign Community Store officially open.

We love working with others and we're reaching out for donations of raffle prizes to help us fundraise at the upcoming Summer Fayre at Stover School on Saturday 20th June 2026.

It's Volunteers' Week and we'd like to shout about our incredible volunteers who go above and beyond to serve the communities, individuals and families of the Teignbridge District.

We have a team of 49 volunteers who between them gave approximately 8,000 hours of their time in the past year to make our work possible. To put that in perspective, that's over 5000 standard length football matches!

We have a large amount of excess fruit and vegetables and bread that's been donated to us. We won't give it all away in our food parcels in the next couple of days so if you'd like to come and collect some from our shop in Buckland between 10am and 1pm, please bring your own bags. No referral is needed and whilst we do not expect it, a donation would be appreciated, however small.
