This post is to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped,volunteered,acted as muscle, portered,spent money, bought raffles, made coffee, drank coffee,purchased bric-a-brac,books and plants in the recent CHAGFORD SUMMER MARKET in aid of CANCER RESEARCH UK.
You have all been wonderful.
On the day we raised a magnificent £3068.
Since then we have raised further funds by selling some donated items on eBay and other sites, so this total is set to rise.
In addition, we are in the process of taking unsold items to CRUK shops in order to maximise the proceeds. Indeed, so far we have taken 4 carloads to the shop in Newton Abbot.
Chagford CRUK group want to say that we have listened to the feedback we have received on the event;it was a change from the usual street market that we wanted to try.
However, there is a strong feeling that this did not match the community feel that the market in The Square achieved.
We are receptive to the feedback and so can confirm that next August we WILL be back in The Square! ( weather permitting!) We hope that the goodwill and feeling that an event like this brings will once again be a hit!
Thanks again to everyone in Chagford , the businesses that support us , and all in the surrounding communities.
We look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming events, and welcome any help you are able to give us in our fundraising goals.

Chagford’s CRUK Summer Market is tomorrow!
In the Jubilee Hall & Endecott House we have a fabulous selection of cakes, plants, books, shoes, jewellery and some quality bric-a-brac!
And, of course, a raffle with some very generous prizes from local businesses.
