Hola! and a huge shout-out to everyone who supported our ‘Teba or Bust’ music evening on Saturday, 6 June. It was a full house on the night.

The event was held to raise funds for NVCT as well as Melrose Pipes and Drums, who will be travelling to Teba in Spain, next year.

A sincere thank you to local businesses - Burts, MacVicars of Melrose, The Purple Plum, and Twelve Triangles - as well as attendees for their generous raffle prizes which helped make the evening such a success.

And finally, a massive thank you to Ian and the Borders Caballeros for providing a fantastic night of music and entertainment.

Pictured here is Newstead resident Gus Redburn who, together with fellow band members, got our music evening off to a great start.

Thank you to all 🎶👏

If you're walking from Melrose to Newstead along the River Tweed, look out for the wee hut down by The Yiddy (the area at the foot of the path up to Newstead). You can shelter from the rain, pause for thought, or have a little rest.

It was built by a local resident(s), and over the years, there have been some additions... prayer flags, wind chimes, and even some poetry.

Newstead is holding the Newstead Sundials Festival on 6 September - save the date and come and visit us!
