🥊 ATTENTION BOXERS: Your Record is a Number, Not Your Name

In the world of amateur boxing, it’s easy to get obsessed with the wins and losses on your card. But let’s get real for a second: A record doesn't define the fighter; the fighter defines the record.
Amateur boxing is the ultimate testing ground. It’s where you go to make mistakes, find your range, and build your engine. If you're only focused on staying "undefeated," you're probably not taking the risks necessary to become elite.
Why Resilience > Record:

• The "L" is a Lesson: A loss reveals the holes in your defense that a "safe" win never could.
• The Gritty Comeback: Anyone can fight with confidence when they’re winning. The real magic happens when you’re down on the cards and you still find the heart to press forward.
• Mental Fortitude: The ability to walk back into the gym the Monday after a tough decision is what separates a hobbyist from a true pugilist.
Stop fighting for the paper. Start fighting for the growth. Whether your record is 10-0 or 0-10, what matters is that you keep showing up, keep adjusting, and never let a setback steal your fire.

The ring doesn’t reward perfection—it rewards the person who refuses to stay down.

Robert Burns Box Cup Update 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Thomas Mawson 70kg Junior Champion 🥇

Huge congratulations to Thomas on winning the junior 70kg Robert Box Cup final today! After a hectic start, he stayed composed and clinical, picking his shots perfectly until those body shots proved too much for his opponent to handle, forcing the referee to stop the bout in the first round again. 🥊

His dedication and focus in the ring are really paying off, and seeing him dominate like that is a testament to his hard work. We are all incredibly proud of his performance and the champion's mindset he brought to the ring over the two bouts. 🥊

A massive thank you to our coaching team—Ricky Mitchell, Mark Gow, Stuart Nicholls, and Jim Gow who travelled down to Dumfries over the two days. 🥊

The boys kicked off the Robert Burns Box Cup in Dumfries today with two great performances. 🥊

Kai put in a massive shift, narrowly missing out on a split decision in a hard-fought contest where he gave his opponent a standing count in the 3rd round. 🥊

Thomas was clinical, securing a 1st-round stoppage to seal his spot in tomorrow’s final. The club is proud of both lads today, and all the best to Thomas for his final tomorrow. 🥊
