Have you ever thought about volunteering but weren't sure if it was for you? 💜

At Home-Start Isle of Wight, our volunteers come from all walks of life. You don't need any special qualifications, just kindness, empathy, and a desire to support local families.

With families currently waiting for support, we're looking for new volunteers to join our next Volunteer Preparation Course starting on 24th June running between 4.30 - 6.30pm.

Training takes place once a week for four weeks, and we'll support you every step of the way.

What an incredible achievement! 💜🥾

Today, Liz Lloyd and her fellow walkers are heading back to the Isle of Wight after completing their epic Coast to Coast walking challenge.

Over the past two weeks, they have walked more than 190 miles from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay, a phenomenal accomplishment that required determination, resilience, and plenty of sore feet!

We are incredibly proud of Liz, who is both a Home-Start Isle of Wight volunteer and trustee, for taking on this challenge to raise funds for local families. Thanks to the generosity of so many supporters, Liz has already raised over £1,300 for Home-Start Isle of Wight 💜

A huge thank you to Liz, her walking team, and everyone who has donated along the way. Your support will help us continue providing vital support to families across the Island.

Joining a new group can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t know what to expect 💜

At Home-Start Isle of Wight, we understand that walking into a new environment with your child can feel daunting, which is why our groups are kept small, welcoming, and supportive.

There’s no pressure and no judgement, just a safe space for parents to connect while little ones play, explore, and have fun.

We currently have spaces available in some of our family and baby groups.

From exploring the grounds to spending time together outdoors, it was a wonderful opportunity for families to connect, make memories, and enjoy some fresh air together 🌿

Trips like these help create special moments for both parents and children, and lots of smiles along the way 💜

To every volunteer who gives their time, kindness, patience, and support to families across the Isle of Wight, thank you for being part of Home-Start Isle of Wight.

Whether you support at groups, visit families, help behind the scenes, or simply offer a listening ear, the impact you make reaches further than you may ever realise.

You help parents feel less alone.
You help children grow in confidence.
You help create safe, welcoming spaces filled with care and compassion.

We’re launching a Donation Drive to help support local parents and babies across the Isle of Wight 💜

We’re collecting essential items including:
🍼 Nappies
🧻 Wipes
🧴 Hygiene products

All donations will go directly to island families supported by.

📍 Drop-off location: Utilita, Newport High Street, donations open until the end of June

Every donation, big or small, can make a real difference to a family in need.
