🧡 Happy 2nd Anniversary Caroline! 🧡
"Today marks TWO YEARS since I became a volunteer with Reaching CIC and what an incredible two years it's been!
In that time, we've moved locations, welcomed new faces, made wonderful friendships, shared countless cups of tea, toast and cake! and had SO much laughter along the way!
We've celebrated Women in Business, organised a tombola, taken part in community walks, welcomed dogs and enjoyed a visit from children at one of our local schools (I absolutely LOVE the multigenerational conversations!). We've been interviewed by BBC Radio Stoke and even discovered that one of our lovely participants carries a letter from our late Queen Elizabeth II! 👑
There have been so many wonderful moments, conversations and memories along the way. But what makes it all so special is the people. 🧡
Reaching CIC is about combating loneliness and social isolation, creating connections, building friendships and giving people somewhere they feel welcome, valued and part of something.
And whilst I know volunteering is about giving your time to others, I cannot begin to tell you how much I get back in return.
Two years on, Wednesday mornings at Brew Club in Biddulph, 10am–12 noon, are STILL the happiest two hours of my week! 🧡
I am SO, SO proud to be part of this AMAZING CIC and to play even a small part in the difference it makes to people's lives. I've also had the privilege of spending the last 12 months as a Volunteer Director, giving me the opportunity to support Reaching CIC in another way and contribute to its continued journey.
Here's to many more Wednesdays, cups of tea, laughter, friendships and memories! It's the moments that matter that make a real difference. 🧡"
It has been an absolute pleasure having you as part of our Reaching team. Not only are you a wonderful table host, raising spirits and providing support for those at your weekly Biddulph Brew Club, but you also always jump at the chance of doing more for Reaching; through community walks, radio interviews, joining us to events and so much more!
