☕ PARENTS & CARERS BREAKFAST – EVERYONE WELCOME! 🥐

We’re looking forward to welcoming back our regular parents and carers, as well as anyone new who would like to come along, meet the team and find out more about what we do!

FREE coffee & breakfast – and why not bring a friend! ❤️

This morning, we’ll be hosting a Knife Crime Awareness presentation and discussion, looking at recent events, the risks associated with knife carrying and, most importantly, how we can work together to keep our young people safe.

We’ll be discussing:
🔹 How to recognise the risks and dangers associated with knife crime.
🔹 How to encourage young people to speak up and report any concerns or suspected knife carrying.
🔹 Where to seek help, advice and support.
🔹 How parents, carers and the wider community can play a part in protecting our young people.

An opportunity to share concerns, ask questions, gain valuable information and have an open, supportive conversation.

No judgement, just conversation, connection and community.

🎃👻 TRICK OR TREAT ETIQUETTE! 🍬🕷️

Halloween is all about spooky fun, dressing up and collecting treats! But let’s remember a few simple rules to keep everyone safe and happy. 🧡

🎃 Please remember:

🕸️ Only knock where Halloween is welcomed – look for Halloween decorations or a pumpkin outside.

🚪 Respect the signs – if there’s a “No Trick or Treat” sign, please don’t knock.

🍬 Be polite – say “trick or treat” and always remember to say thank you!

👻 Respect people’s homes – no banging on doors, ringing doorbells repeatedly or damaging property.

🧡 No means no – if someone doesn’t answer or doesn’t have any treats, move on politely.

🌙 Stay safe and be seen – wear something reflective, carry a torch and take extra care near roads.

Join our Detached Youth Work Team!

Do you enjoy meeting new people, have a passion for helping young people, and want to make a positive difference in your local community?

New Milton Youth Trust is looking for enthusiastic, reliable volunteers to join our Detached Youth Work Project, working out in the local community to engage, support and empower young people.

🍃 What is Detached Youth Work?

Our Street Reach team heads out into local communities each week, meeting young people where they are at. We build positive relationships, offer advice and guidance, provide information and support, and help young people access opportunities that can make a real difference to their lives.

We currently cover:
📍 New Milton
📍 Hordle
📍 Everton
📍 Ashley

Who are we looking for?

You don't need previous youth work experience – just the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to get involved!

We'd love you to have:

🧡 A passion for supporting young people.

💬 Confidence and good communication skills.

🎨 An interest in sports, arts or other activities.

🤝 Reliability and a positive approach.

💡 The ability to inspire, encourage and empower others.

🚗 A driving licence would be helpful but isn't essential.

What's involved?

Part-time voluntary role.

One evening a week.

Full training and support provided.

Must be aged 18 or over.

Enhanced DBS check required.

✨ Bring your own skills, interests and personality to the team!

Sometimes all it takes is one positive conversation, one familiar face or one supportive adult to make a difference in a young person's life.

🍃 Our detached team will be out this evening in Everton, Hordle, Ashley and New Milton.

Due to staff shortages there will be NO active surgery points this evening. We apologise for any inconvenience, but you can still lookout for our Youth Workers covering all the areas as normal.

Detached youth work is one way of offering a service to young people which takes place in their communities, away from buildings. This can happen in parks, recreational areas, local high streets and other areas young people choose to meet.
