The New Milton Wombles - adding a touch of sparkle to our town!

01/11/2026

Firstly a huge thank you to the New Milton & District Lions Club for our fabulous new Wombles hi vis 👏. You won’t miss us when we are out and about now!
16 smart looking Wombles collected 18 bags of litter from the town this morning with some interesting finds including…
Two pairs of pants (one pair perhaps a little early for Christmas 😂)
A pair of tights
An almost full bottle of rum
Some flashing devil horns 😈
And a couple of rolls of wallpaper!
Thanks to New Milton Town Council for collecting the bags and a lovely chap called Mark who took our photo.

15 Wombles out across the North Milton Estate, Davis Field, and the station area collected 16 bags of litter!
Interesting finds included 3 working walkie talkies and we are trying to track down the owners. UPDATE: Owner located and walkie talkies being returned 😀
Fancy joining us? Pm us to join our WhatsApp group to find out where and when we will be picking next.
Thanks to Carl who took our photo and New Milton Town Council for collecting the bags 😀.

15 Wombles spread out across New Milton and Ashley this morning and collected 22 bags of rubbish!
Our focus was the supermarket car parks but we also covered the station, the town centre, the rec and parts of Ashley.
Lovely to see Morrisons and New Milton Chiropractic Clinic cleaning up their shop frontages 😀.
Thanks to New Milton Town Council for collecting the bags as always.
Thanks also to all the people who stop and chat to us and say thanks. It really cheers us up and spurs us on.
If you’d like to join us on a Sunday morning and make a difference to our town, send us a message and we’ll be in touch. No experience necessary 😂.

A town centre Womble for a dozen of us today. 15 bags of rubbish including two of cans.
Interesting finds included a fierce looking ball, a fancy (sadly empty) bottle of vodka, a key chain and the usual hundreds of cigarette ends.
Thanks to a kind gent called Gerry who took our photo and New Milton Town Council for taking away the bags.
A special mention to two young lads who helped us pick up rubbish at the skate park. If you are their parents, you should be very proud of them 🥰. Thank you.
Fancy joining us on a Sunday morning? Send us a message and we’ll be in touch.

A dozen Wombles wombled around the North Milton Estate, Davis Field and Chatsworth this morning. 15 bags and various items!
Thanks to New Milton Town Council for clearing it. 😬

A damp Womble in Ashley this morning. 13 bags of rubbish including one of cans for the Air Ambulance collected by 11 Wombles.
The litterers in Ashley seem to have two main sports: decorating the bushes with various items and emptying car ashtrays in favourite places.
Strange finds this week included:
*A crab bucket (no 🦀 included!)
*A scaletrix set 🚗
*Old macdonalds farm 🐑 🐮
*3 odd shoes 🥿 👞 👟
*Over 1000 cigarette butts 🚬 😡
Thanks to NISA Ashley for letting us leave the bags for collection, New Milton Town Council for picking up the bags and a lovely person called Wendy for taking our photo.
If you’d like to join us, send us a message and we can add you to our WhatsApp group to let you know when and where we will be Wombling next!

A refresh of the library car park and entrance was the main focus for the Wombles this morning whilst a few more Wombles tackled the town centre. We noticed the library was looking a little sad last week so asked permission to give it the Womble Sparkle 💖. Such rewarding work to see the before and after!
Thanks to Carol and Caroline who kindly took our photos and to New Milton Town Council for picking up the litter bags.
Strange find was a bag of very small people 😂.

A town centre Womble this morning yielded 12 bags including one of cans for the Air Ambulance.
Interesting finds included:
*A teddy brooch
*A full bottle of b**r
*About 200 cigarette butts under the sign that says no smoking 🤪
*A bike pedal
The obligatory hub cap 😂
*A can from 2019
Thanks to New Milton Town Council for picking up the bags and to a nice lady called Jackie who took our photo.
Lovely to receive thank yous from passers by 🥰

The Wombles were out on the North Milton Estate, Davis Field, the station and the Arnewood Practice/Morrisons area this morning. 12 of us collected 14 bags including two of cans for the Air Ambulance.
Pics show before and after of a dreadful area covered in broken polystyrene and a smoker’s haunt cleared of over 500 fag ends!
Oh and we also found a lovely sparkly g-string 😂.
Thanks to New Milton Town Council for picking up the bags.
Fancy joining us to help us keep our town s***k and span? Pm us to join our WhatsApp group to find out where and when we are meeting up.

23 bags of rubbish collected by 16 slightly soggy Wombles at various locations around New Milton this morning!
Some of the team picked the Tesco car park as their janitor is currently unwell (always happy to help Amanda 😀) and others picked in and around the town centre. Lovely to see a lady from Morrisons sweeping their frontage - it would great if more shops and businesses did this. Our high street would look s***k and span in no time!
Thanks for all the ‘thank yous’ and thanks to New Milton Town Council for picking up the bags.
Oh, and if you’ve lost a key or a little bee necklace, pm us and we can let you know where to collect!
