Musselburgh Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets

Musselburgh Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets We are Musselburgh Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets part of the UK's largest maritime youth charity

Whether at sea or on land, the Sea Cadets offers young people across the UK amazing opportunities for personal development - by learning new skills and working in teams - we offer an environment where young people find new confidence and inspiration. Established in 1856 the Sea Cadets was created by communities wanting to give young people instruction on a naval theme. Traditionally old seafarers

provided training while local businessmen funded the unit building. Today, 14,000 young people based in 400 units in towns, cities and ports across the UK are challenging themselves and developing new skills, like sailing, boating and rock climbing - supported by 9,000 volunteers.

What a great day taking part in our first Tri-Service competition! It was amazing to see the growing bonds between all of the cadets and adults!

The teams showed determination and worked together throughout the day with 5 different stations that reflected some of what is available across the 3 cadet forces. A massive well done to all that took part.

To make the day even better, we were thrilled for one of our teams to win the overall competition! 🏆

Thank you to all of the CFAV for supporting and organising the day. It could not have went ahead without you all. I am sure we will have a lot more opportunities to come together again soon.

Another fantastic year supporting the Edinburgh Marathon Festival! 👏

This weekend, our Cadets were proud to once again help at the start and finish lines of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival, assisting runners and helping everything run smoothly throughout the day.

An incredible £8,000,000+ was raised for charities this year — an amazing achievement that we’re honoured to play a small part in each year.

A very special thank you goes to all of our cadets who volunteered their time over the weekend. Your hard work, enthusiasm, teamwork, and professionalism did not go unnoticed, and you represented the unit brilliantly from start to finish!

We’d also like to give a huge thank you to all of the families, friends, and unit supporters who came along to help, encourage, support, and give up their own time to make the weekend possible. The support behind the scenes means just as much, and events like this simply couldn’t happen without you all.

Thank you everyone for another successful year — we’re already looking forward to the next one! ⚓🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

This week our cadets have been making the most of the boating season, taking part in rowing, kayaking, and paddle boarding, alongside a range of land-based activities. Great effort, teamwork, and plenty of fun all round!

Yesterday we were so grateful to be invited to attend a Careers Awareness Day with London North Eastern Railway supported by Lt Cdr Blacklaw, District Officer Grampian at Edinburgh Waverley.

What an experience for our young people and CFAVs who loved every moment from learning about the roles within LNER to having hands on experience on them such as driving a train!

Thank you so much!
