North Lanarkshire Disability Forum

North Lanarkshire Disability Forum NL Disability Forum signposts people with disabilities and long term conditions to local organisations.

We are a signposting organisation, we provide information on benefits, aids and adaptations, transport, respite etc to people who have physical disabilities. We also have a project called Practical Assistance for Everyday Living, this project supports people in accessing benefits such as PIP, ESA & Blue Badge and we support people in attending health appointments. We do not provide transport and w

e do not provide advocacy but we can provide emotional support to those who need it when it comes to important appointments and health related assessments.

Have you seen that the 'First Steps' Fair is coming to Airdrie on Thursday 18th June and wondering what's actually on offer on the day?

Here's a closer look at the support you can expect when you walk through the doors at Cairnlea Parish Church:

πŸ”΅ Benefits Advice - Get clear, straightforward guidance on your benefits and support payments with no jargon and no pressure
πŸ”΅ Learning and Skills - Explore opportunities to try something new at your own pace, whenever you feel ready
πŸ”΅ Finding What's Next - Friendly conversations to help you figure out your next small step, whatever that looks like for you
πŸ”΅ Support for Mental and Physical Health - Connect with local wellbeing and community support services that are there to help you feel better in yourself
πŸ”΅ Carer Support - Dedicated support for unpaid carers
Plus, there will be more on the day!

Whether you're looking for confidence building after a long time out of work, or you simply need someone to point you in the right direction, this event has been put together with you in mind. There is no expectation to start looking for work and your benefits won't be affected by attending.

Tickets are completely free β€” grab yours using the link below and come along for a chat on the day 🩡
