North East Skinny Dip is an established and popular annual mass skinny dip which takes place on Druridge Bay in Northumberland. And of our own, unique, physical bodies! It's about taking a risk and embracing a moment of pure joy and freedom! It also provides a rare opportunity to step into our vulnerability, confront shame and smash the beauty myth! NESD is not just a skinny dip. It's an experience! There is no better way of marking the Autumn Equinox than stripping down to skin and running wild and free into the North Sea with hundreds of other humans!!! Since our first dip in 2012 we have raised over £140,000 to strengthen the work of Mind - The Mental Health Charity. All proceeds from your pledges and every single penny of your fundraising will go directly to Tyneside and Northumberland Mind improving LOCAL mental health services and LOCAL mental health! Last year a record 1300 skinny dippers took to the North Sea!!! Commit to this unique event today! Every 'body' welcome. NO exceptions! What now?

The Office for National Statistics have published the su***de rates for 2025 and the numbers are harrowing.

6,162 humans died by su***de in the UK last year. This is equal to an age-standardised mortality rate (ASMR) of 11.3 deaths registered per 100,000 people.

The North East had the highest ASMR of any English region, at 14.0.

Males continued to have a higher ASMR for su***des deaths than females with 17.5 su***des registered per 100,000 males compared with 5.5 su***des registered per 100,000 females.

Males aged 50 to 54 years had the highest age-specific su***de rate at 28.0.

Females aged 45 to 49 years had the highest age-specific su***de rate at 7.7*

Damning evidence of the epidemic in our midst... 💔

On World Mental Health Day I want to share with you a mental health miracle.

This man. My favourite man. My Paddy. Who six months ago was drinking himself dangerously close to death's door, has been offered a second chance.

He surrendered.
He committed to healing.
He did the work.
He stood in the fire.
He chose life.
He found peace.

And I am so fu***ng proud of him!

That moment after months of logistics and planning and promo that all the incredible humans who offer their time, skills and energy to support me come together to create the ✨MAGIC✨ that is NESD.

The welcome tent, the food house, the saunas, the long line of torches, the fire, the lights, the drums, the art, the arriving dippers, the anticipation, the NESD crew overseeing it all.

Wow. You guys rock.

The amount of cash NESDippers chucked in the bucket on Sunday was insane 💰💰💰

Your generosity is simply mind-boggling!

We also took digital donations for the first time ever taking our total collections on the day to an astounding £5291.
