GREATER MORPETH DEVELOPMENT TRUST VACANCIES.
We are looking to appoint new Directors to the board of GMDT.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a not-for-profit charity whose aim to improve the lives of people living in Morpeth and the surrounding areas.
A bit of background about us:
• We started life some 20 years ago in Carlisle Park Lodge
• We are now situated in Morpeth Train Station, and we led on the restoration of the beautiful Grade II listed buildings here, and at Morpeth Town Hall.
• We organise and host the annual Morpeth Book Festival, Picnic in the Park and Heritage Open Days
• We run an Environmental Group who litter pick in the area, maintain signage and look after the library and station gardens. Recently this group were successfully involved in tree planting initiatives in the area.
• We run a community cinema 9 months of the year
• We have future projects which are in the early stages of planning
About you:
• You do not need to be a train buff to join us! All we ask is that you are enthusiastic about Morpeth and are keen to get stuck in.
• If you have a background in finance, railways, community, charity or anything relevant, and would like to have a chat about what being a director would look like, we would be delighted to hear from you.
