Monifieth Befrienders We’re a local charity for people aged 60+, or recently bereaved, in our community. we are a registered charity (Scottish Charity Number SC030685)

Our aim is simple: to reduce isolation and loneliness and bring a little more laughter, conversation, and companionship into everyday life. A charity providing friendship for socially-isolated older people and bereaved people of any age living in Monifeith, Angus.

🚶 JUST 7 DAYS TO GO!

Next Friday, we'll be heading to Crombie Country Park for Marion's Sponsored Walk and we're still hoping to see some more friendly faces joining us! 💜

This isn't about being the fastest walker.

It's about coming together, getting some fresh air, having a chat and raising money to help us continue our work in the community.

Bring a friend. Bring the family. Bring your walking shoes. 👟

💜 What does being a Befriender actually mean?

You don't need to have all the answers.

You don't need to be an expert.

And you certainly don't need to be able to fix someone's problems.

Being a Befriender is about something much simpler – being there.

A chat over a cup of tea. ☕
A walk together. 🚶
A shared laugh. 😊
Someone to talk to and look forward to seeing.

For someone who feels lonely or isolated, that regular connection can mean so much.

And sometimes, the smallest acts of friendship can make the biggest difference.

Marion's Sponsored Walk is just around the corner and we're still looking for people to join us!

On Friday 11 September at 11am, we'll be heading to Crombie Country Park for a sponsored walk to raise funds for Monifieth Befrienders.

Whether you're a regular walker, a weekend wanderer or simply fancy doing something positive for your community, we'd love to have you with us. 💜

Every step helps us continue supporting older people in our community and creating friendships that make a real difference.

Looking for a friendly space to meet new people, enjoy good company, and take part in fun activities? Our groups are open to anyone aged 60+ or those who have been recently bereaved. 💛

🥾 What a Kiltwalk! 💙

On Sunday 16th August, the team from Monifieth Health Centre took on the incredible 20-mile Kiltwalk challenge in support of Monifieth Befrienders!

Despite a damp start, the weather soon brightened up, and the walkers were treated to plenty of sunshine for much of the route. ☀️

And they made it all the way to the finish line still smiling! 🙌👏

We’re currently waiting to hear the final fundraising total, but we already know that every penny raised will go directly towards supporting Monifieth Befrienders and the people we help in our local community. 💙

A huge well done to the whole team, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part, donated, encouraged and supported them along the way.

20 miles. One amazing team. A wonderful cause. 🥾💙
