Exciting news from The Spectrum Place — Introducing The YARD:MK 🚀🐄

Milton Keynes is gaining a new accessible, central and creative community space.

The Yard:MK has been designed to provide affordable, flexible space for Milton Keynes’ incredible CICs, charities and small local businesses to deliver their impact.

We are inviting expressions of interest from organisations and practitioners offering:
• Tutoring, creative arts, wellbeing and youth activities • Lessons, classes, workshops and 1:1 sessions • Photography, STEM, music, art, health, counselling, yoga, crafts and more

💜 AS REQUESTED… WE’VE GOT A FUNDRAISER! 🚀🦎

Hey all!

So many of you have asked us, “Have you got a fundraiser? How can we help?”…

So, as requested, we’ve set one up! 🥹💜

We’ve launched a GoFundMe to help us get The Yard:MK up and running. Every penny raised goes to The Spectrum Place Hub, the charity managing The Yard:MK project, and will be used to help make this space happen.

And honestly… we need you. 😂

We’re currently knee-deep in building works, paint, cleaning, furniture and approximately 47 jobs that apparently all need doing yesterday.

We’re a tiny, unfunded grassroots charity, and right now it’s two parents volunteering our time to try and build something we really believe Milton Keynes needs.

A place where young people can learn, create, explore enterprise, build confidence, access education and opportunities, make friends and have somewhere they actually want to be.

There’s no big funding pot behind us. Just a big idea, a lot of determination, a slightly unhealthy relationship with coffee ☕ and a community that keeps saying, “How can we help?”

For our Spectrum Place families, September means a fresh start and new opportunities for incredible, sensory-friendly experiences.

Our SEND-adapted mobile dome sessions are available throughout the autumn term. Gentle lighting. Calm sound levels. Adapted presentations. Fully trained staff. Everything designed so that every young person feels safe, included, and inspired.
