We were given a very interesting talk last night by Eric who is a great friend of our treasurer Geoff.
Eric is part of a charity in Whitby. It's 'The Whitby Lobster Hatchery' Yes he came all the way from East Yorks to talk to us. In return we had a raffle and raised £120 for his charity.
We were joined by a few guests last night who all thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
We welcome anyone wishing to join or learn about Rotary. Our meetings are every Wednesday at The Swan Revived in Newport Pagnell High Street. Meet in the hotel bar at 7pm.

Last night, at our regular speakers evening. We were treated to a presentation from Jack who is a volunteer with Medical Detection Dogs. A charity based in Great Norwood. We learnt about the part that medical detection dogs play. The charity is a world leader in this sphere.
At the end of the evening we were proud to donate £200 to The charity.

Rotary's annual display of Crocus is once again performing magnificently.
It's a symbol of Rotary's worldwide campaign to eradicate polio. The purple colour represents the dye used to mark the finger of a child who has been immunized.
Newport Pagnell Rotary will once again be planting more bulbs in the autumn 2026 to add to the display alongside the fire station and NP Orchard in Lakes lane.
We also have planted 4000 bulbs alongside the allotments in Olney.
Photos will be following shortly

Newport Pagnell Rotary Club spent a very wet day at the Xmas lights switch on in the High Street last Saturday. This was the third year we attended the event with our Xmas gifts tombola. All prizes were donated by members and their families. Some were handmade items from our expert nonagerian craftsman.
Unfortunately the rain did have an impact on the morning session, however it picked up later in the day and we raised nearly £500 for Willen Hospice and other local charities.

Dani Olver who is the current gold medal winner for Team England Adaptive Abilities Cheerleading. Was presented with a cheque for £100 last night at our weekly meeting.
Dani came along with her mum Kelly to give our Rotarians an insight to this sport. Dani who is deaf and suffers from Lupus manages extreme acrobatics with the assistance of her team.
She is currently training to take part in The world championships in Florida next April.
We have invited them both to join us on her return in May next year to hopefully celebrate another gold medal.
