Ethnic minority voices needed to shape young people’s health support

Public Health South Tees is redesigning health and wellbeing support for young people aged 11 to 19 in Middlesbrough. This includes support around emotional wellbeing, healthy lifestyles, relationships, and sexual health.

For ethnic minority communities, taking part in this survey is critical. Many families face barriers when accessing services. These include language challenges, cultural stigma around topics like mental health and sexual health, and a lack of culturally appropriate support. When these voices are missing, services are designed without a full understanding of real community needs.

This consultation gives you a direct role in shaping a new service. Your input will influence how support is delivered in schools, community settings, and through local organisations. It will also help ensure services are respectful, accessible, and relevant.

If you are a parent, community leader, faith leader, youth worker, or have lived experience, your perspective matters.

Take action now and complete the survey: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/fea1bf8484004017bafa2c18e16b87d0

Share it across your networks to ensure strong representation from ethnic minority communities.
