AFCA Voluntary Car Service are seeking new volunteer drivers; female drivers are desperately needed. Using your family car, you will collect our service users from their home and take them to Medical & Clinical appointments in the region. This being a Community Service will not change your car insurance premiums; the service user is insured by AFCA while in our care.
Drivers will undergo an Enhanced DBS check, and a short training program. Fully supported by AFCA you will recieve expenses as compensation at a rate of 55p per mile from your home and back to your home. Mileage is calculated by google maps. We provide an extra £5.00 for waiting over 2 hours at the destination. For drivers willing to commit to long distance we provide subsitence allowance for driving breaks and refreshments. Driver are in control of your own diary and commitments, where you can engage, we are grateful, if you are not available, that's ok too.

Louth Hospital 54 miles £29.70
Pilgrim Hospital Boston 36 miles £19.80
Grantham Hospital 46miles £23.90
Volunteering in the community is life changing for those service users having difficulty with mobility. Generally, our service users are elderly living locally.
We also provide specialist transport for Wheelchair users (see photos) drivers can opt to be trained for these vehicles.
AFCA operate a membership which enables the member to access transport for Welfare & Social events. Loneliness is a cruel fate.
We organise long distance transports to unite families throughout the UK, these service users having mobility problems often have long periods without family sitting at the table for Christmas, Easter, summer school holidays.
