M.A.W.S Metheringham Animal Welfare Supporters Group Raising money for local animal charities. We are the Metheringham Animal Welfare Supporters group. ( MAWS for short ).

We are a group of friends who raise funds for animal charities and sanctuaries in Lincolnshire, alot of the charities we support are very small and are not very well known, and so need all the help they can get. We are all unpaid volunteers, no paid staff & no plush office, just somebodies front room. We are totally dedicated to the animals and every penny counts. Although we are a young group fou

nded in August 2000, we now bring over 25 yrs experience of funding raising to the group, first 13 yrs of those with the PDSA and in those 13 yrs raised £28,845.75 for them. Maws have raised £70,628.52p for animal charities & sanctuaries in Lincolnshire over the last 15 years.

At the 2025 AGM in early September, the vote was whether to continue MAWS or close as without member assistance with fund raising etc, we could not continue. Members were given until the end of September to vote following which a decision would be made. A very dissapointing number of replies were received, 4 YES and 10 NO, but no offers of help. So MAWS is closing as soon as the accounts are finalised and the funds will be distributed primarly amongst the 4 charities voted for at the 2024 AGM and the balance amongst the remaining qualifying groups.
