Our friends at Menston Scouts & Guides are holding their Jumble Sale at Kirklands on Saturday 12th September! 🛍️

Doors open at 2pm, with donations being collected at Kirklands between 11am–12 noon. They’re also looking for volunteers to help out on the day.

A great local cause, so if you fancy a rummage, grab a bargain and support the Scouts & Guides, pop along! 💚

🍺 Something is definitely brewing at Kirklands...

These two popped in today to start getting ready for their Oktoberfest weekend – Friday 23rd & Saturday 24th October. 🇩🇪

I may have interrupted a very serious conversation about beer. 😂

There'll be food, beer, music and plenty of Oktoberfest fun, so get the dates in your diary.

Baby Sensory offers a lovely opportunity to spend quality time with your little one while enjoying sensory play, music, movement and lots of fun — all designed to support your baby's early development. 🥰

If you’ve been thinking about giving it a try, now is the perfect time to book! 💕 Places are available across the autumn term.

We’re delighted to welcome Baby Sensory back this autumn! 👶💛

Their new 7-week term starts w/c 7th September, with sessions on Monday mornings for little ones from birth to 13 months.

✨ 10.00–11.00am — Birth–7 months
✨ 11.15am–12.15pm — 7–13 months

Baby Sensory is a lovely way to spend time with your little one, with music, movement, sensory activities and plenty of fun, while supporting their early development. 🥰

Bookings are now open, so if you’ve been thinking about joining, this is a great time to get your place!

🛍️ Support Our Local Scouts at Their Annual Jumble Sale! 🛍️

We're delighted to be hosting the Menston Scouts' Annual Jumble Sale here at Kirklands Community Centre on:

📅 Saturday 12th September
🕑 Doors open at 2.00pm

This fantastic community event is organised by our amazing Friends of Menston Scouts and Guides, who work incredibly hard to make it a success each year. Every bargain you buy, every donation you make and every hour you volunteer helps support the brilliant opportunities Scouting and Guiding provides for local young people.

How you can help:

📦 Donate your good-quality unwanted items between 11.00am and 12.00 noon at Kirklands on the day.

🙋 Volunteer for a few hours between 11.00am and 4.00pm. The Scouts are always grateful for extra pairs of hands to sort donations, help during the sale and clear up afterwards.

As we get ready to welcome everyone to this year's Menston Village Show at Kirklands Community Centre, we're hoping our wonderful community can lend a hand.

🏆 Did you win a trophy last year?
Please could you return it so it's ready to be awarded to this year's winners. Trophies can be dropped off at Kirklands Community Centre or Menston Library.

🎁 Can you donate a Tombola prize?
We're looking for bottles of wine, chocolates, biscuits, toiletries or any other new, unopened items. Every donation, however big or small, helps make the Village Show a fantastic community event.

💰 Something a little different is coming to Kirklands!

We're delighted to welcome Vintage Cashout to Kirklands Community Centre for a one-day valuation event.

Have you got old jewellery tucked away in a drawer? Forgotten coins, medals, cameras or other collectibles? Bring them along for a free, no-obligation valuation, and if you decide to sell, payment is made on the day.

💧 A big thank you to Rob and Simon! 👏

Thanks to their help, we've now got an outside tap installed at Kirklands Community Centre. It's one of those small improvements that will make a big difference.

It'll be incredibly useful for keeping the front of the building looking its best, making it much easier to jet wash the paths and entrance.

It's also a real help for our wonderful Menston In Bloom volunteers, whose water butts have run dry during the recent dry weather. This means they'll be able to keep the planters watered and looking beautiful for everyone to enjoy. 🌸🌼

Menston in Bloom do an incredible job keeping our village looking so colourful and welcoming, but they're always looking for a few more pairs of hands. If you enjoy gardening, or simply want to help make a difference in the community, they'd be delighted to welcome some new volunteers.

Community projects like this only happen because people are willing to lend a hand, so a huge thank you again to Rob and Simon for giving up their time and expertise. It's very much appreciated! 💙😊
