Big news at the March Eco Hub, we are hiring a Full-Time Makerspace Manager. 🛠️🚀

Thanks to incredible grant funding from The National Lottery, our creative community is expanding fast. We are now looking for a dedicated, hardworking individual to step into our March Eco Hub and lead the day-to-day magic of our Makerspace.

If you are someone who already knows their way around workshop machinery or you have a sharp eye, a tech-minded brain, and a massive drive to learn how it all works, we want to hear from you. 👀

You’ll be the heartbeat of our shared creative space, keeping things safe, organised, and welcoming.

Here is a quick look at what the role involves:
• Managing the team rota, coordinating our brilliant volunteer schedules, and leading training cohorts to keep our space friendly and collaborative.
• Overseeing our woodworking tools, pottery studio equipment, textile machines, and our Fentastic Plastic recycling setup. Experience working in or running a team and some machines is essential.
• Keeping on top of essential health and safety checklists, membership data systems, and general operational paperwork.

Everything you need to know at a glance:
• Full-time (35 hours per week) based on-site at The REMO Eco Hub in March and occasional events elsewhere.
• Shifts span between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM across a 7-day operating week (including evenings and weekends).

You get access to our exclusive in-store warehouse bundles like the 5-pack 'Sexy Seconds' boxes.

• The £40 Makerspace Pass: Access to the Makerspace whenever our doors are open, come and go as you please. Instead of spending thousands filling your house with loud, expensive equipment, £40 a month grants you full access to our woodworking tools, 3D printers, laser cutters, textile setup, and our completely refreshed pottery studio, The Mud Room (pictured below), complete with a new Welsh kiln (our Makers heard more about that in their Monthly newsletter) and our new wheel. There are also plans for a private Discord server where you can discuss and form project groups and talk with other Makers or ask staff about machines being available before coming down in person and they also get priority booking on all workshops with discount codes given out frequently.

A very muddy milestone is here. 👀🏺

Our dedicated Makerspace now has "The Mud Room" which is a dedicated pottery space, and is now officially nearing completion after a month of hard workspace renovations. Nikki & Marcus have been rolling up there sleeves this week inside the newly designed studio department to test our complete library of premium underglazes.

You can see the studio setup in action during our fortnightly Makerspace tours. Want to try the area? You need to become a Makerspace Member to use the area outside of workshop session hours. Becoming a Maker, allow you to work alongside our friendly team and technicians while helping us shape a vibrant new home for Fenland creatives.

If you’ve been thinking about joining the Makerspace community, we’ve got a little update on how tours are running. 🛠️✨

To give our team a bit more breathing room to support everyone in the workshop, we are officially moving our Makerspace Membership Tours to alternating Fridays only. 🗓️

What does this mean for you? Well, chances to come down, see the gear, and sign up as a paid-up Member are going to be a lot rarer from now on. Slots are getting much tighter, so if you’ve been putting off coming down for a look around, now is definitely the time to grab a spot before they fill up. ⏳

Our next tour night is happening this coming Friday, 2nd October at 6pm.

It's the absolute best way to check out what we’ve got planned, see the projects currently on the go, and get your membership sorted so you can start making. 🪚 You do need to book a slot so we know you're coming.

Ever wanted to look inside our creative Makerspace workshop but didn't know when we are open for a look around? 🚪👀

We are officially switching our Makerspace Membership Tours to alternative Fridays from 6pm to 7pm. With our September group now filling up nicely, these new fortnightly slots are your primary chance to come in, explore the space, and secure your place in the upcoming October cohort. 🛠️✨

You don't need to be an expert craftsman to join us, but completing a quick tour is a mandatory step before signing up so we can show you how the machinery works. It is completely low-pressure, free to attend, and the best way to see how you can unlock access to our tools for your autumn projects. 🪚

This coming Friday is your absolute last chance this month to tour the hub and secure your spot in our limited October 2026 Makerspace Cohort. Our massive dream workshop is fully packed with wood benches, pottery wheels, sewing machines, and 3D printers ready for all your big autumn projects. 📦

You don't need to be an expert to join, but you must complete our walkthrough tour this Friday at 6pm to get onto Saturday's induction. As a launch bonus, if you stay a paid member for 3 months, your fourth month is completely free. 👀

Our Makers have been keeping our brilliant Creality K1 Max 3D printers incredibly busy in the Digital Lounge. That web-pattern grid you can see running on the print bed isn’t just a cool design, it’s a custom-made drying mat for our craft and pottery tools. The clever web structure lets air circulate under wet brushes, sponges, and clay tools so they dry evenly without warping or trapping moisture.
