March Summer Festival is a free, 3 day family festival that takes place in June at West End Park.

🎄 Well, we've already mentioned the C word and let you know when you can catch Santa on his tour with March Lions Club CIO ...

Now it's time for another festive date for your diary!

March Community Christmas Lights Switch-On will be Friday 27th November, lighting up the town and officially kicking off the festive season. 🎄

Just like March Summer Festival and many of the other fantastic events that take place throughout the year, it's another great example of community champions coming together to create something special for everyone to enjoy.

🌧️💨 We're already on our 2nd named storm and with the clocks having gone back, the darker nights are definitely here. So, grab a blanket, pour yourself a hot chocolate, get cosy, and make sure you've got these dates in your diary because.......

SANTA IS COMING! 🎅🎄

March Summer Festival is proud to have a strong partnership with March Lions Club CIO, and we're delighted to help spread the word about their annual Santa Sleigh Tour.

Once again, March Lions Club, with the help of the March Rotary Club, are working together to take Santa on a tour of the streets of March.

All the money raised this year will support Magpas Air Ambulance. Every use of the Magpas helicopter to an emergency incident costs between £3,000 and £4,000. Magpas receives no Government funding and relies entirely on fundraising and donations to continue operating.

They will also be collecting unopened tins and packets of food with long best-before dates for March Foodbank. If you would like to donate, please have these ready in a bag for our volunteers to collect.

🗓 Thursday 3rd – Elliot Road, Yarrow Close, Truman Avenue, Hazelnut Close and Pond View

🗓 Monday 7th – Cavalry Park, Worsley Chase, Fleetwood Close, Fairfax Way, Suffolk Way, Bretton Avenue, Hunters Chase and Cavalry Drive (finishing near the mini-roundabout)

🗓 Wednesday 9th – Berryfield and Daglass Way

🗓 Thursday 10th – Burrowmoor Road, Birchwood Avenue, Brewin Avenue, Cherrywood Avenue, Cherryholt Avenue and Ellingham Avenue, finishing at City Road Lorry Park

🗓 Monday 14th – Creek Road (from Shaftsbury Avenue), Foxglove Way, The Parks, Riverdown and Creek Road (to Shaftsbury Avenue)

🗓 Tuesday 15th – Gaul Road, Turnbull Road, Hornbeam Close, H**e Road, Acacia Avenue, Bluebell Way, Riverbank Close and Oxbow Crescent, finishing at City Road Lorry Park

🗓 Thursday 17th – Russell Avenue, Peyton Avenue, Gresley Way, Southwell Close, Norwood Road and Maple Grove (to Laburnum Grove)

🗓 Monday 21st – Elwyn Road (from Orchard Road), Eastwood Avenue, Green Street, Asplin Avenue, Papworth Avenue, Mallard Way and Badgeney Road (finishing outside the Co-op)

🎄 Christmas Eve Special Stop
Santa will also be at Broad Street, near the War Memorial on 24th December between 9.30am and 12 noon.

📱 This year you can once again track Santa's live location and donate online. Detailed routes and a link to the tracker will be posted on the March Lions Club CIO page, or visit march-lions.org.uk/santa for more information.

⏰ We aim to start each evening at around 6pm and finish no later than 7.30pm

If you miss them, they will also be collecting with the sleigh for their Charitable Fund at:
🛒 Sainsbury's on Saturday 12th December (9am to 3pm)
🛒 Tesco on Saturday 19th December (9am to 3pm)
🛒 Tesco on Tuesday 22nd December (9am to 12pm)

So why not come out, give Santa a wave, support some fantastic causes and help spread a little Christmas magic around our wonderful town.

Tonight was our first official Entertainment Committee meeting, and while there was plenty of discussions, we've made a great start on preparations for the March Summer Festival 2027 - 11th - 13th June.

This has resulted in… extreme measures being taken to ensure our wayward Email Admin finally catches up on the mountain of booking emails we’ve received!

If you’ve emailed us, expect a reply to land in your inbox very soon.
If you haven’t received one yet, feel free to send a chaser — we’ve already removed the batteries from their glow sticks as punishment.

The final bank holiday before Christmas is here — make it count!

Fancy popping into town tomorrow? 🚶‍♂️☀️

The Cambs Mini Club will be on the Marketplace from 10am to 3pm on Sunday 16th August, displaying a selection of Minis for visitors to enjoy.
🚗 Please note: This event is now full for exhibitors. If you have any questions about the event, please contact Cambs Mini Club directly.

🎶 Also tomorrow, as part of the Summer Concerts organised by March Town Council, Back Two and March Can't Sing Choir will be performing at the Bandstand in West End Park from 2pm to 4pm.

Why not make a day of it? Browse the classic Minis in the Marketplace and then relax with some live music in the park! 🎵🌳😊

Well, that was unexpected! 😳📱 Sorry if we made you all jump!

Festival planning is already well underway for March Summer Festival 2027 following a busy and productive committee meeting on Monday.

As a community festival, we simply couldn't do this without all you fabulous people ❤️ and our amazing committee 👏. You supported us in your thousands this year, and we're excited to start building another fantastic event for 2027! 🎉

🌞 Where did you watch the eclipse? 🌞
With everyone talking about today's eclipse, it got us thinking...

The next total solar eclipse visible from the UK isn't expected until 2090. By then, March Summer Festival will be celebrating its 90th year!

Did you know that March Summer Festival has been part of the local community calendar since 2000, beginning a year after the memorable eclipse of 1999?

We're not quite sure what our plans will look like in 2090, but we do know that we're already hard at work planning for March Summer Festival 2027! 🎪🎶

Well hello festival goers! 🎉

August is a busy month for free festivals in March, and we're incredibly lucky to have so much happening in our town.

This weekend sees EstaFest taking place at Estover Field. Gates open from 5pm on Friday 7th August and continues on Saturday 8th August. Estafest is in its 3rd year so you know you are guaranteed a full line up of entertainment and activities with something for the whole family. Be sure to check out their page for full details of the activities and entertainment line-up. Dust off your camping chairs and dancing shoes 👞🎉

Then, on 23rd August, we have March Armed Forces Fair (MAFF) - 23 August 2026 at West End Park.
⭐ Military & Vintage Displays – showcasing regular and reserve units, cadet organisations, interactive recruitment stands, historic military vehicles, classic cars, motorbikes and vintage tractors.
✈️ Attractions & Entertainment – including a scheduled Battle of Britain flypast, live music from local bands and choirs, food and drink stalls, plus hundreds of market and charity exhibitors.
🎖️ Community & Remembrance – featuring a traditional closing parade of standards and an act of remembrance.
❤️ Charity Support – the event operates as a fundraising initiative for military charities, with the 2026 event supporting the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Like the March Summer Festival, both of these events are organised entirely by volunteers. We are incredibly fortunate as a town to have so many dedicated volunteer committees who give up countless hours of their time to create these (and many more) amazing events for our community.

Four weeks ago, our Saturday looked very different.

However, this Saturday is almost as actioned packed March Summer Festival and a sports fan's dream!

🏉 2:10pm – England Rugby take on Fiji in the Nations Championship

🎾 4:00pm – Wimbledon Ladies' Singles Final as Karolína Muchová faces Linda Nosková on Centre Court. (Men's final tomorrow).

⚽️ 10:00pm – England face Norway in the FIFA World Cup Quarter-Final.

From rugby this afternoon, to Wimbledon, to a huge night under the lights for the Three Lions, it's a brilliant day of sport.

🎶 Get Ready for a Summer of Music in West End Park! 🎶

Organised by March Town Council for the community they're bringing you a fantastic summer of live music in West End Park, starting tomorrow and running right through to 30th August.

🌞 Bring a chair, bring a picnic, and come along to enjoy the music and the summer atmosphere!
