🎄✨ Meet our Christmas Carols performers: Gausa! 🇱🇹

Next up in our performer introductions is Gausa Lithuanian Mixed Choir, founded in London in 2008 to bring people together through a shared love of singing and a passion for keeping Lithuanian culture and traditions alive in the UK. 🎶

A familiar voice within the UK Lithuanian community, Gausa performs at cultural celebrations and concerts across the country, including Baltic events alongside Latvian and Estonian choirs. Beyond the UK, the choir has also performed at major Lithuanian song festivals and international events across Europe and North America. 🌍

The choir, led by Vita Ronkutė, is looking forward to sharing their music at Europia’s Central and Eastern European Christmas Carols, celebrating their culture through the joy of song! 🎄✨

It’s also an opportunity to learn more about cancer awareness, chat about preventative healthcare and discover simple ways to look after your wellbeing.

🎄✨ Meet our Christmas Carols performers: Ukrainian Voice! 🇺🇦

Next up in our performer introductions is Ukrainian Voice, a choir founded in 2024 as part of the AUGB Liverpool branch. Led by founder and choir director Inna Ruzheva, the group brings people together through a love of Ukrainian music and culture 🎶

Ukrainian Voice sings songs across a variety of genres, and they note that Ukrainian songs are a means of staying connected to their roots, language and memories of home, as well as a way to celebrate their culture and keep heritage alive.

One festive tradition that is particularly special to the Ukrainain Voice is singing koliadky (Ukrainian carols). These traditional songs bring people together during the Christmas season, filling it with joy and hope. ✨

The choir is especially looking forward to sharing the beauty of their music at Europia’s Christmas Carols and celebrating alongside communities from across Central and Eastern Europe !🎄

What’s on in October? 🍂🎃🏃‍♀️

October is another busy month for Team Europia, with plenty of ways to get involved, connect with the community and access support.

This weekend, we’ll be cheering on our amazing Manchester Half Marathon runners. Come along and support the team as they take on the challenge, we’d love to see you there! 📣🏆🇺🇦

We’ll also be running a creative session, alongside our regular drop-in advice and advocacy sessions and support with healthcare navigation across Greater Manchester. 🫂

And if you’re a student at the University of Manchester, come and say hello to us at the Volunteer Fair! We’re always looking for people who want to volunteer and support our work 👋

As always, our sessions are free to attend and open to all.

🏃‍♀️🇺🇦 What a day!

A huge congratulations to all 15 of our amazing Europia runners who took on the Manchester Half Marathon yesterday. Together, they've raised over £5,000 for Europia’s Ukraine services! 🎉

It was a beautiful and inspiring day, with some of our staff out on the course, waving the Ukrainian flag and cheering everyone on.

To all our runners, we couldn’t be prouder of you! What an incredible achievement, well done Team Europia! 🏅👏

📣 Extra session added!

Europia will be in Sale on October 15th for a drop-in session.

This is a welcoming space for you to receive practical help and support, including assistance with immigration, form filling, universal credit claims, GP registration and making medical appointments, and general advice or a friendly chat.

🚭 We will also be able to assist Trafford residents who are wanting to stop smoking, including offering CO breath test monitoring and practical next steps for quitting.

On 24th September, Europia's Advocacy and Impact Coordinator, Iryna Oliynyk, joined the Stronger Together Forum 2026 in London, hosted in partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine.

The forum brought together community organisations and partners from across the UK to share ideas and strengthen support for Ukrainians in the UK and Ukraine. Discussions covered advocacy, Ukrainian culture and identity, public diplomacy, British partnerships and engaging the private sector.

For Europia, one of the biggest takeaways was the value of connecting with others: sharing practical approaches, building partnerships and learning from other organisations across the country. We look forward to working together to strengthen support for Ukrainian communities in Greater Manchester and beyond. 🇺🇦

🎄✨ Meet our Christmas Carols performers: Bukvaran! 🇧🇬

We’re kicking off our performer introductions with Bukvaran, the Bulgarian School, who will be joining us at Europia’s Central and Eastern European Christmas Carols! 🎶

Founded in London in 2011, Bukvaran has since expanded to Liverpool, Manchester and Chester. We’ll be joined by 10 young performers from the Liverpool school who will be singing a traditional Bulgarian song and sharing a traditional Christmas speech.

In Bulgaria, Christmas singing is a much-loved tradition. Groups of male singers, known as koledari, visit homes on Christmas Day, singing traditional songs and receiving bread and money as gifts. Bukvaran are continuing this love for seasonal singing and looking forward to sharing this with Manchester! 🗣️

The children are especially looking forward to performing in the Cathedral and singing alongside communities from across Europe, and, of course, showing everyone a little piece of Bulgaria. 🥰
