✉️If you could send one message to the UK community supporting Ukraine, what would it be?

Europia colleague, Iryna, asked Ukrainian service users to share a message with the people in the UK who have supported them since the full-scale invasion. Swipe through to hear their messages, filled with kindness, solidarity and the somber reality of being displaced.

With Ukrainian Independence Day happening earlier this week, we also invite you to celebrate the culture that Ukrainians continue to carry with them. Join us at tomorrow at St Thomas Centre from 13:00 - 16:00 for a Motanka doll-making workshop led by Yulia Barsukova 🇺🇦

What does independence mean when your country is at war?

For Ukrainian Independence Day, colleague Iryna asked some of our Ukrainian servicer users what independence means to them. Their answers - home, freedom, identity, language, culture, and the hope of peace in Ukraine - remind us that behind the news headlines and the statistics are people with places they miss and communities they care about.

At Europia, today and everyday, we are proud to stand alongside the Ukrainian community in Greater Manchester and to support Ukrainians to navigate life in the UK whilst maintaining their connections to their culture and identity.

Today, we honour Ukraine’s independence, resilience and the people who continue to hold onto hope.

A reminder that today, and throughout the month of August, there will be no Ukrainian Drop In Session in Manchester Central Library.

Our office is also closed this week for our annual summer break and we will reopen on Tuesday 1st September. If you have any queries, please email [email protected] and we will aim to respond upon our return 📧

We had a fantastic time today with Sarah and Emma from who taught some of Europia’s community members how to cycle 🚲

Although some of the group had never ridden a bike before, by the end of the lesson everybody was pedalling independently 🏆

Sessions like today remind us all just how empowering it is to believe in yourself and try something new. A big congratulations to all attendees today who went up a gear in their confidence and their bike skills! ⚙️ 🥳

Celebrate Ukrainian Independence Day with Team Europia! 🇺🇦

Join us on Thursday 27th August as Yuliia Barsukova guides us through the traditional art of making a Motanka doll. Motanka dolls are traditional Ukrainian handmade dolls, often associated with protection and connection to Ukrainian heritage 💙💛

All materials for the workshop provided, as well as light refreshments ☕

After a very busy start to 2026, Europia will be closed from 22nd August - 31st August. Our hard-working staff will be taking the time to rest and recharge before returning to the office on Tuesday 1st September 💼💻

Throughout 2026, Team Europia has been dedicated to getting together on a monthly basis to enjoy a shared meal.

As a small team working hybrid, it's unfortunately not very often enough that we are all in the same room, but staff lunches give us space and time to see each other and catch up over delicious food! 🍽️💛
