Just to let people know about this years Armed Forces Day Flag raising event to celebrate the start of Armed Forces Week outside Macclesfield Town Hall on Monday 22nd June 2026.

Starting at 2pm
Everyone is welcome to attend this free event

**FOR INFORMATION**

On Saturday 27th June there will be short parade to Macclesfield Town Square to commemorate Armed Forces Week. The Parade will arrive at 1115 and there will be a number of information and other stalls located in the grounds of St Michaels Church.

IF you are a serving member of His Majesty's Armed Forces or a Local Veteran then please feel free to join the parade which will be forming up at 1030 for a 1100 step off, outside the Post office in WH Smiths on Exchange Street / across from Age UK which is next to B&M store.

On this day 82 years ago, tens of thousands of courageous British and Allied soldiers, sailors and aircrew took part in the D-Day landings, the largest seaborne invasion in history.

Today we remember the service and sacrifice of all those involved, commencing the liberation of France and Western Europe and turning the tide in the Second World War. Together with personnel from the United States, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Denmark and Poland, British forces showed immense courage, and endured great sacrifice.

We will remember them.

They now meet at Broken Cross Club on the 2nd Sunday of every month apart from in June when they will meet on the 7th. Be there 0900 for 0930.
