Another convoy has successfully reached Ukraine, delivering vital aid where it is needed most.

Thanks to the dedication of the MUA team and the continued support of our donors and volunteers, we are able to keep standing with Ukrainians in their fight for freedom, security, and a better future.

Today, Ukraine marks The Day of Mourning and Remembrance of the Victims of War.

This day reminds us of the immense human cost of war, which has affected millions of lives across generations and left deep wounds in families and communities.

Ukraine continues to endure Russian aggression and fight for its independence.

We honour the memory of all who have lost their lives and express our deepest gratitude to those who continue to stand for Ukraine’s freedom.

We continue our news digest with key developments related to Ukraine:

The United Kingdom announced on 18 June 2026 a new military support package for Ukraine, including the delivery of up to 150,000 drones and nearly £1 billion in additional defence assistance, further strengthening Ukraine’s battlefield capabilities and long-term defence cooperation with the UK.

Ukraine also carried out one of its most significant long-range operations of the war, launching a record drone strike on Moscow on 17–18 June 2026, with reports of around 200 drones deployed, including strikes on strategic energy infrastructure such as oil refining facilities.

During a large-scale Russian attack on Kyiv on 15 June 2026, a fire broke out at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, damaging the roof of the UNESCO-listed Dormition Cathedral. Residential buildings and critical infrastructure were also hit, at least 19 people were injured, and parts of the city experienced power outages.

Macclesfield Ukrainian Aid has delivered this specialised medical evacuation bus to Ukraine to support Ukrainian defenders serving on the front line.

Designed to transport wounded soldiers safely and comfortably during medical evacuation, the vehicle is equipped to provide vital medical support.

We are deeply grateful to everyone whose generosity made this donation possible.
Together, we continue to stand with Ukraine and those bravely defending their country against Russian aggression!

Ideally, every convoy needs a skilled mechanic as part of the team. We carry a comprehensive set of tools with us, including a large socket set, various hand tools, a battery starter, and a small air compressor.

The vehicles we deliver are often nearing the end of their service lives, so problems are sometimes inevitable. Knowing how to arrange vehicle recovery in both Europe and Ukraine is essential. So far, we have maintained a 100% success rate in delivering every vehicle to its intended recipient.

Repairs are carried out quickly and, thanks to the generosity of the garages we work with, are often completed free of charge.

Sometimes the most important moments happen by chance.

During one of our past trips to Ukraine, near the Lviv Opera House, a Ukrainian soldier stood with a large bouquet of roses and it was clear something special was about to happen.

It was a marriage proposal, simple and powerful in its sincerity.
We shared the video with the couple, and it became a truly unforgettable gift. They kindly gave permission to post it.

From all of us at Macclesfield Ukrainian Aid, we wish the couple happiness and will continue to stand side by side with our Ukrainian friends! 🇬🇧🇺🇦

Macclesfield Ukrainian Aid purchases used 4x4 vehicles and pickup trucks in the UK for Ukraine. Many of these vehicles are bought with mechanical faults, allowing them to be acquired at a lower cost. Volunteers then repair, service and prepare them for the demanding conditions in Ukraine.

Once ready, the vehicles are driven by volunteers from the UK to eastern Ukraine, where they are handed over to carefully selected recipients. Pickup trucks are primarily used by military units for casualty evacuation, while 4x4 vehicles are converted into evacuation ambulances and operated by Ukrainian paramedic organisations.

Thanks to the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of supporters, these vehicles provide a lifeline to those working in some of the most challenging and dangerous environments, helping to save lives and support Ukraine in its fight against russian aggression.
